Accountability:
? To perform Plant Optimization and trouble-shooting through PCC Applications and Automation.
？ To monitor unit performance and identify opportunities for improvements.
？ To support vendors to ensure the proper function and training use of the simulator.
？ To assist Lead POE Control to perform design/configuring, detailed engineering, and advanced process control applications, sequence programs, process logics, safety interlock system functionality and compressor controls to maximize plant profits and efficiency
？ To propose and conduct plant tests to verify or demonstrate process control improvement ideas.
？ To support and troubleshooting for the DCS system configuration & graphics and engineering projects
？ To provided assistance to Operations in trouble-shooting plant control problems.
？ To provide technical support including basic design/configuration to project team for implementation of automation programs and new process control applications.
？ To work with Maintenance and IT to support existing process control functions

？ To drive for HSE performance and continuous improvement
？ Actively participate in process safety activities and HAZOP reviews.
？ Following HSSE & O&S guidelines to review and develop safety related process/operation to meet group standards.
？ To report any unsafe condition, potential environmental problem, any opportunities and propose recommendation to improve in his/her work area based on his/her knowledge, experience and lesson learnt.

？ Generate internal and external reports to share best practices.
？ Keep current of site manufacturing issues and understand plant and business visions.
？ Coordinate with other groups and provide process engineering expertise and support to ensure implementation of process improvement changes.

Other requirement:
a. Educational background

4 years of College graduated, majored in Control engineering, or equivalent discipline.


b. Experience (years and nature)

? A demonstrated basic technical understanding of plant operations, process engineering essentials, and chemical processing technologies.
? A demonstrated basic and fundamental understanding of process control theory, process logic, DCS system software configuration, basic DCS I/O and control configuration, DCS graphics, PLC and SIS logics, and loop tuning.
? Ability to interpret design basis & operating philosophy form PFDs and P&IDs.
? Ability to understand, run and make minor modifications to existing process and safety control practices.
? Ability to develop basic spreadsheet models to calculate NPV, IRR, and PI for capital project.
? Handle and plan high loads of works.

BP Zhuhai Chemical Co., Ltd. is a joint venture of BP 85% and Zhuhai Fuhua Group 15% (BPZ) BPZ manufactures Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA). BPZ phase I, 350,000 tonne PTA plant investment, was completed successfully in Q1 2003. The phase I investment reaches US$360m. BPZ produces high quality PTA for the China market and uses BP’s advanced X technology in PTA industry. The plant is the most advanced of its kind in China.

A phase II project to expand PTA production to 900,000 tonnes more per annum using BP’s most advanced SOX production technology is under construction now and was put into production in Q4 2007 successfully. The phase II investment in BPZ is over US$300m.

BPZ’s HSE goals are “no accidents, no harm to people and no damage the environment”. There is a strong focus on developing staff HSE capability and competencies within the JV. BP’s HSE management practices and standards have been adopted by BPZ. The JV continues to develop a positive HSE culture, which focuses on promoting “every individual taking responsibility for safety at work”.
