Summary: The Product Safety and Compliance department set the companies Quality, Safety and Compliance standards creating and communicating these standards to relevant teams, as well as liaison with suppliers/ makers/ 3rd testing parties. The leader of Product Safety and Compliance provides the Safety and Compliance department with a clear strategy, seamless processes and the tools to achieve department’s goals and responsibilities.
Job Description:
1. Responsible for developing, training and supporting team members’ education, growth and knowledge of safety, regulatory and compliance issues. Ensure the company quality standards and goals are met through the supply chain.
2. Review and approve new formularization and product formats for safety and quality issues prior to development to insure products comply with all safety and quality regulations. Provide relating technical supports to retails and manufacturing partners.
3. Develop and maintain company’s testing protocols. Create process and procedure to optimize testing that can cover all regions of distribution, retails and licensors requirements on cosmetic, children’s products and toys.
4. Responsible for both products and factories to comply with all regional regulations, customers standards, licensors approval, certifications and registration required to import/export the assortment of products to the targeted markets.
5. Take charge to maintain company’s standards accordingly and update to related parties.
6. Conduct audit relevant work, includes factory’s pre-audits, the 3rd party audit. Spot check makers progress throughout the year to make sure they are maintaining the standards.
7. Support other departments as needed, with follow up on pending costing, samples and production readiness.
8. All other duties from management.
Requirement:
1. At least 12 years working experience in Quality, Safety and compliance field with management experience.
2. Have very solid working experience in toy or children cosmetic products for US, CANADA, MEXICO, EU market.
3. Very strong knowledge of ASTM F963, EN71, CPSIA, FDA, CPSR, REACH on cosmetic.
4. Strong knowledge of FDA, CPSR, REACH on children cosmetic.
5. Be familiar with the testing process and requirement for retailers, such as Walmart, Familiar Dollar, Primark, CBI etc.
6. Very good communication skill both in written and spoken English.
