Deputy Category Manager China (CM)

Function

Networking the entire Asian supplier market for needs. Direct counterpart for all Category Managers in Winterthur. CM is the market expert for Asia and part of the Global Category Manager team and their TOP targets. The CM is focused on cost-out and seeking the best technical and commercial solution (not the cheapest!) for all Categories.

Existing Suppliers (Supplier Relationship Management)

Maintaining the relations with existing suppliers in Asia. Supporting the Category Managers in Winterthur with information and enhancing the communication with all existing suppliers.

Sourcing Asia

Sourcing the entire Asian market (including e.g. Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, Japan etc.) for potential new suppliers. Making first contacts, representing as the market leader for Compressors and evaluating the suppliers (technically and commercially) for potential business (pre-Audit). As an "inter-cultural ambassador" and "door-opener" he will build a bridge between China / Asia and the Category Manager in Switzerland.

Supplier Development

Developing the supplier network the Category Manager will cooperate with the Vendor Developer ensuring the new source will perform as agreed and introduce trouble – shooting actions if required.

Contract Management

Will support to negotiate all required contracts with the supplier (Non-Disclosure Agreement, Frame Agreement, Quality Agreements, Tool Loan Contracts)

Claim Management

In case of failing supplier performance to claim costs back / raise contractual penalties.

Profile Requirements

+ Experience working in international (matrix) organizations

+ Excellent intercultural communication, reporting and negotiation skills

+ Networking markets / Relationship Management

+ Experience in cross – functional communications (procurement, legal, vendor development, engineering, quality, sales, logistics)

+ Experienced in Contract Management and making agreements with suppliers (NDA, Frame Agreement, Quality Assurance)

+ Production know-how for various categories e.g. Castings, Forgings, Crankshafts, Motors to pre-audit suppliers

+ Cost-out focus – Read Cost Break Downs and identify saving opportunities

+ Trouble – Shooting mentality

+ English fluent

+ Team player

+ Ready to travel China and entire Asia

+ Experienced Category / Commodity Manager with at least 10 years job experience in automotive, machine building industry (e.g. compressor, turbines)
