Description

1. This is a staff assignment involved in the improvement of the facility (utilities, water, sewer, electrical, etc.) and coordination of maintenance of various manufacturing equipment. Assignments will vary based on experience and will work independently or as part of a team to resolve problems. This assignment will be geared to systems integration of manufacturing equipment, support services needed to maintain equipment and/or building operations.

2. Analyzes and recommends current and future systems, procedures, training and equipment needs based upon understanding and communication with users. Determines acceptability of new equipment based on industrial equipment specifications and recommends modification or revision as necessary.

3. Coordinates development of a planned maintenance program and prepares documentation to support maintenance frequency, recurring problems, etc. Investigates problems occurring in the shop that are maintenance related and recommends solutions to alleviate the problem. Analyzes machine process, tool usage, areas of excessive wear, maintenance frequency, etc., and revises system software where possible to prevent excessive downtime. Troubleshoots machining complexes and associated material handling equipment to avert interruption of manufacturing operations and assures systems compatibility for control equipment.

4. Determines building requirements including utilities, water, sewer, electrical, hazardous material requirements, etc. and assists in the design to reflect building changes due to new equipment, rearrangement, etc. Verifies effectiveness of existing equipment and/or systems and recommends revision or purchase of new equipment to provide adequate service. Follows installation process to ensure proper placement of service material and equipment and notifies others when problems occur. Manage contractors performing maintenance and repairs to the facility and/or utility system. Manage new projects as they relate to the facility and utility system.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor Degree, major in Mechanical Engineering or related

2. 3 or above working years experience is required to diagnose equipment problems, integrate systems, coordinate maintenance, etc.

3. Good communication skills are required.
