This buyer position is responsible for assisting with Marketing and Human Resources Services categories. Service deliverables in these areas include HR program consulting, medical office support, medical supplies, health maintenance hardware and health evaluation services, training and learning, translation services, and marketing advertising agencies categories. The buyer position will support the APD region.



Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Managing all aspects of the strategic sourcing process for the assigned categories; includes strategy development, supply market analysis, RFP creation and analysis, negotiations, contracting and implementation. Responsibility for the review of internal client requests, solicit & evaluate proposals

Develop excellent working relationships with suppliers and internal clients

Analyze current and potential suppliers in assigned categories

Work with cross functional and regional teams to negotiate, review and manage contracts and compliance for CAT

Responsible for managing policies, agreements, source catalogues and special purchasing programs and supporting specific business programs

Accountable for the liaison with the corresponding Category / Platform based buyers in regions/facility

Leading continuous improvement initiatives and purchasing activities with Global Purchasing, demonstrate leadership in recognizing the potential for cost reductions, and quality improvement; as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment

Promote the highest level of professionalism and business ethics

This role will develop and lead strategic sourcing teams and fully understand the supply base, evaluate strategic options and decide appropriate course of action when necessary.



Required Qualifications:

An undergraduate degree from a college or university – or equivalent experience;
A minimum of four years of progressively responsible job-related experience;
Advanced negotiation skills;
Experience leading projects as well as leading teams, suppliers, & customers to effective solutions;
Willingness to travel up to 25% of work time as needed; and
Competent in in effectively communicating, both verbally and in writing within all levels of the organization
Strong understanding of commercial contracts
Strong Analytical skills

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in Indirect purchasing of Human Resources, Marketing or other services categories
Professional certification in Purchasing
Previous experience negotiating agreements and working with commerical contracts
Proven experience negotating, reviewing and managing client requirements contracts, policies and procedures
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate skill in dealing with sensitive issues and developing others, as well as in analytical problem solving and project leadership.
