Providing legal advice and representation to businesses involved in patent litigation, antitrust litigation, patent licensing and other related legal issues. The position requires broad knowledge of antitrust law or patent law, and procedures for litigating antitrust cases before courts and agencies, or patent and invalidity cases before Chinese courts and the PRB. The attorney will personally manage and lead teams comprised of internal and external resources to achieve cost effective and successful outcomes. Key responsibilities include the development of case strategies and budgets as well as active involvement in antitrust litigation, or patent litigation and invalidity matters, which typically will include the management of outside counsel, factual investigations, pretrial pleadings, discovery, motions practice and dispute resolution (whether by settlement, trial, or alternate dispute resolution such as arbitration). The position will also provide opportunities to become involved in preventative initiatives, external advocacy on intellectual property, antitrust and litigation topics, and the development and delivery of training on various legal subjects. Periodic travel within China and outside China, including the USA will be required.

Requirements:

Patent attorneys preferred, ideally with a technical degree in electrical engineering or computer science.

Work experience in the telecommunications field.

Experience in leadership position(s) in legal or industrial professional organizations.

Familiarity with international law regarding antitrust or enforcement of patents.

Previous study at a law school or work experience at a law firm or in-house at a company outside of China, particularly in the United States.

Six or more years employment experience as an attorney specializing in antitrust or patent litigation at a law firm, in-house litigation counsel or as a judge in the Chinese court system.

Bar membership in China.

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
