Principal Accountabilities

Lead the implementation of production and procurement plans that maximize our delivery performance to our customers and maximize our inventory utilization. Coordinate the Sales and Operations planning process in order to ensure that the supply of products will meet the expected demand.

Responsible for the management of maximizing inventory utilization. Coordinate the processes of inventory classification and implementation of appropriate inventory levels in order to meet our customers' delivery lead time requirements and maximize our inventory turns.

Lead the procurement process such that material acquisition costs are minimized, supplier lead times are minimized, and our product performance requirements are achieved. Lead continuous lead time and cost reduction efforts of our suppliers to include the conversion to suppliers in low cost countries. Assures that supplier cost targets are set and that detailed cost reviews are conducted. Supplier contracts and agreements, where appropriate, shall be negotiated by the incumbent.

Responsible for providing technical expertise in the sourcing selection process in order to minimize the time to introduce new products and their costs.

Lead the manufacturing engineering processes in order to maximize the effectiveness of our production processes and suppliers.

Coordinate the implementation of the necessary support systems.

Nature and Scope

The incumbent has responsibility for developing and implementing procurement/production plans which maximize our customer delivery performance while also maximizing our inventory utilization. In addition, responsibilities include minimizing the costs of our products and lead times in order to meet our customers' corresponding requirements.

The incumbent must have skills in all aspects of supply chain management to include inventory management, procurement and sourcing, production planning, lead time management, manufacturing engineering, order processing, MRP, DRP, and transportation. The position requires the close managing of inventories and production schedules of customized products in a high volume and volatile demand environment. The incumbent needs to coordinate with our Information Technology team in order to implement procedures and software systems that meet our supply chain requirements.

The incumbent must possess a high level of dedication to customer satisfaction and create a strong sense of customer satisfaction within his team. He must integrate the processes of his teams in order to maximize the knowledge, understanding, and cooperation throughout his entire team. Use of techniques that maximize team member involvement, ownership, responsibility, and authority are essential to maximizing performance.

The position requires skills in working with many levels of our organization. Very close coordination is required with the sales and marketing teams, as well as customers, in order to understand the sales forecasts and customers' requirements. The incumbent must be able to work well with the marketing and engineering teams in order to implement the sourcing of newly designed and customized products at targeted costs and on schedule. The position also requires regular interaction with general management in order to review all aspects of supply chain performance and present improvement opportunities. In addition, communication and interdependence with counterparts at other facilities is necessary.

The position requires very strong knowledge of our suppliers' processes in order to ensure that we meet aggressive cost targets. Regular formal detailed reviews of suppliers' costs will be conducted. In addition, the incumbent will implement electronic links to our suppliers' business systems in order to more efficiently share information and reduce lead times. The ability to coordinate the implementation of substantial increases and decreases in plant and suppliers' production schedules on short notice is also required.
