Qualifications

Required –
？ MSc. in Mech. Eng (or related science or engineering degree e.g. Aerospace Eng, Physics, etc.) or BS with equivalent experience
？ Expertise in Pro/E and mechanical system design.
？ Expertise in diesel engine and construction machine cooling systems.
？ Fluent in English with clear verbal and written communication skills
？ Strong technical and analytical skills
？ Demonstrated motivation and teamwork

Desired –
？ Knowledge of thermal science (fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer, etc.).
？ Expertise in CAT drawing standard and releasing processes.
？ Knowledge of CAT products and development processes (e.g. NPI, APQP, CPPD etc.)
？ Knowledge of FEA and reliability design
？ Knowledge of cooling component manufacturing expertise.
？ Knowledge of cooling analysis processes
？ Project management skills


Responsibilities

Primary –
？ Follow standard design process to conduct component or system design in Pro/E including mounts, packaging, installation, etc.
？ Concept design proposals and PUGH analysis to assess design risk.
？ Identify design scope, special product characteristic.
？ Construct and maintain of component and system DFMEA , engineering product structure (BOM); special product and process characteristics (SPPC), etc.
？ Accountable for all design control activities including drawing quality, checking, releasing, etc.
？ Conduct design reviews with supplier and product group
？ Execute best-practice design strategies for component life, serviceability, commonality, etc.
？ Coordinate the resources at suppliers to ensure supplier to follow the APQP /NPI process to deliver right performance samples or products to meet NPI schedule and quality standards.
？ Work with CPI project teams to identify the root causes and correction plan. And lessons learned from passed CPI issues with current design.

Secondary –
？ Develop and promote use of consistent tools and techniques for component and system design
？ Work with other members of CP-C to continuously improve the accuracy, efficiency, and capability of the cooling and aftertreatment development processes
？ Assist project manager in developing and maintaining all technical specifications
？ Assist project manager in updating component quotes and tracking cost information
？ Develop component and installation design commonality strategy.
？ Provide input to the MGPP of cooling and aftertreatment products development.
？ Understand requirements and drive new product and process development for improving supplier’s product portfolio, process capability, capacity, as well as cost reduction.
？ Train or mentor other design engineers
