The Swiss-based family owned company Bühler is a global, industrial solution provider for processing foods and for manufacturing advanced materials, contributing to food security and high energy efficiency.
Around 65% of the worldwide harvested grain is processed on Bühler mills, around 50% of all car taillamps or headlamps are getting metallized on Bühler machines. Every day, billions of people come into contact with Bühler technologies to cover their basic needs for foods, mobility, or communication.

Bühler China is the competent partner when it comes to machines, plants and services for the grain and food processing as well as for producing high-quality materials. Bühler has been operating in China since the 1980's, with its headquarters located in Wuxi.

Duties

• Handle all assigned product relocations ( Product transfer) from HQ to China
• Developing assemblies and machines, in accordance with technical, technological and economic requirements, this may include compiling necessary production data (3D model, manufacturing drawing, product structure etc…)
• Keep the master production instructions and drawings up to date in complete alignment with all changes introduced by HQ or BCHI personnel for all products made in China at all times
• Initiate and implement modifications for MM products to improve product quality and performance
• Initiate and implement manufacturing cost reduction for MM product to optimize profitability
• Be the technical resource for all MM product related inquiries that can originate from customers, BCHI factories or other departments as well as global Buhler affiliates.
• Organize and support problem shootings for MM products.
• Controlling deadlines and costs for orders according to the specifications
• Operating in the area of tension between finding the ideal technical and market-adapted solutions
• Technical responsibility for the layout and calculation of the assemblies allocated
• Ensuring the appropriate solution in technical, technological and economic terms
• Cooperation with designers and technical management of such
• Guiding the junior co-worker to complete set design work

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical design
• More than 5 years relative working experience in mechanical or electrical design and engineering
• Independently design a part or single machine
• Technical responsibility for the products assigned
• Familiar with production routing process, raw material, steel / plastic / ceramic
• Familiar with the European CE Mark is a plus
• System knowledge in hydraulic or pneumatic
• Good skill on MS office, AutoCAD and Inventor
• Good English skills both in oral and written
• Ability to independently think, make and execute problem solving proposals
• Can mentor or coach design junior engineers
• Analytical and structured procedure
• Autonomous and responsible
• Team player and work well with factory and Buhler global colleagues
• Willing to Lean
