The purpose of this position is to:
Development of the sourcing strategy for indirect purchases and compliance with existing business processes.
To develop and implement procurement and contract management policies, procedures, strategies and systems to ensure the timeliness, quality and cost effectiveness of indirect materials and services purchase
To manage and optimize the total cost of all indirect purchases in China inclusive of program, capital, freight, tooling, transport, utilities, leases, IT, contract labour and general operating expenses
Develop strategic supply and complementary partnerships that are consistent with the company’s vision and long term objectives
Ownership and responsibility for major commodities within indirect plus development of appropriate framework to manage other indirect spend
Follow all elements of the Global Purchasing Process and ensure compliance with supplier selection, RFQ, sourcing table and ongoing supplier management requirements

Indirect buy optimisation for current and future operational spend, program spend, IT and capital investment
Standardized approach, sourcing table, for plant, equipment, leases and large single point purchases
Provide leadership to manufacturing plants (Wuxi plus others) in the processes to manage and optimise indirect spend using qualified suppliers and a total cost approach
Develop and drive the uptake of global standard process – such as; spend analysis, SOR & RFQ preparation and analysis, global sourcing process, sourcing tables, PFES etc. to ensure standardised approach are applied to Indirect Spend. Requires liaising and alignment with Manufacturing Purchasing team
Responsible for the establishment of Non-Production contracts (freight, transport, warehousing, packaging etc.)
Sourcing strategy and compliance with existing business processes.
Lead on all capital, tooling & other non-production items.
To ensure the smooth progress of company business, proactively coordinate with quality/engineering/logistic for program launch on assigned commodity and indirect purchasing activities with administrative team.
Release PO in system and keep tracking of delivery to ensure material supply timely.
Manage document like Purchase Orders and Supply Contracts etc and vendor profile.
Collect/track raw material price in market and compile into monthly report
Highly Engaged in the commodity study with on-site investigation with part weight/scrap rate/cycle time/lablor/etc.
Ensure that suppliers that we engage have the correct credentials to be a supplier to Futuris (supplier assessment and ratings are obtained and relevant to the product being sourced)
Working with stakeholders and leadership teams to implement and enforcing polices that increase spend visibility and compliance.
Serve as an escalation point to resolve problems within the Purchase to Pay process for indirect goods and services
Mentor and manage colleagues in China business to ensure that key purchasing practices are followed. Negotiation methodology and competence is developed, whilst ensuring value driven outcomes are always in focus.
Ensure the establishment of risk management processes to ensure effective mitigation of risk.
Contribute to the development and implementation of standard process for supplier agreements that provide protection for the business. This should include standardized format requirements and retention process

Support purchasing activities indirect sourcing/assigned commodity.
To ensure purchasing activities to meet company cost reduction target and establish long term contracts with supplier with approved multi-year cost reduction target on fastener commodity.
Handle the purchasing pipeline, develop and improve supplier from quality, cost and delivery metrics in support of current and new programs and meeting cost targets and timing
Assist purchasing strategies for assigned commodity to achieve ideal price and meet cost savings target meeting Q, V, C criteria.
Continuous source and upgrade the commodity supply base, ensure understanding of new market trend, new competitive supply base that will meet the changing business news of the company.

Qualifications
Essential: diploma in Mechanical Engineering Business Management, Procurement or relevant discipline
Preferred: bachelor studies in Mechanical Engineering


Experience
0-3 years’ experience and working knowledge of Procurement Function
         Preferred - Experience in a similar role in auto parts industry
Proven customer service and financial orientation
