职位描述
The position is challenging and highly visible as a member of the company’s procurement and supply chain team as responsibilities will include relationship and interfaces with various OEMs and suppliers worldwide. The objective shall be to make a strong impact on the competitiveness of our aircraft business. Market research activities for alternate suppliers and initiation of best cost sourcing have to be a primary focus.
The Purchasing Manager is responsible to set up a well functioning organization and the development and implementation of purchasing strategies and processes in order to ensure the availability of all material/parts to the company’s production sites in Europe and China in the required quantity to economical costs on time.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead purchasing organization unit including process and compliance management, material planning, supplier selection, ordering and sourcing;
- Negotiate and set-up of commercial agreements/contracts with suppliers;
- Support in organization of Continuous Workshops with key suppliers;
- Support in supplier quality audits and supplier development initiatives;
- Ensure suppliers meet requirements in terms of quality, quantity, costs and on-time delivery performance;
- Implement and refine forecasting methods and drive forecast accuracy;
- Ensure forecasts, inventory levels, and supplier orders are reflected accurately in planning systems, processes and reports;
- Manage purchasing budget; determine ranges of budget versus actual, and check development;
- Initiate corrective measures in a timely manner, if actual data tend or are beyond set ranges;
- Supervise, coach and train staff involved in material planning, buying, tracking and expediting;
- Ensure continuous improvement and enhancement of purchasing processes;
- Identify cost reduction potentials and initiate follow-up actions.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA / BS) from 4 year college or university;
- A minimum of three (3) years of planning / execution and reporting experience in the field of purchasing, preferably in the field of aviation;
- Able to set up an efficient purchasing organization and experience in leading a team;
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision under challenging conditions;
- Strong teaming and collaboration skills combined with cross-functional project management and organizational skills;
- Mentor purchasing team members as required;
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and in a collaborate manner with domestic and international suppliers, staff and senior management;
- Strong analytical thinking, planning and development skills;
- Experience with material management software and purchasing systems;
- Excellent supplier relationship management and communication skills; and fluent in English (both written and verbal) and Mandarin. A good command in German is a plus;
- Willingness and readiness to travel and to work abroad for a defined period of time;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint software applications.
Education / Additional desirable criteria
- Knowledge / expertise in technical fields such as engineering and/or production desired.MBA and supply chain graduate certifications and/or certification in production preferred.
