325149 Field Sales Engineer – High Temperature Tube

Sandvik Materials Technology, a world-leading manufacturer of high value-added products in advanced materials, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials. The product areas comprise Tube, Strip, Primary Products, Wire and Heating Technology. In 2012 sales were about SEK 15,400 M with 7,300 employees.

The position would directly report to Segment Sales Manager – High Temperature Tube , below please refer to the job description:



Key performance areas:

· To investigate and identify new customers with the aim to achieve sales and profitability targets.

· To maintain existing customers.

· To investigate new projects, follow up exist projects,

· To visit engineering companies, fabricators, end-users to get orders.

· To develop a deep understanding of high temperature tube; know the applications and processes customer used and the benefits of our products compared with competitor's materials.

· To apply and implement value based selling principles when negotiating sales prices with customers.

· To recognize and report market intelligence.

· To document activity plans, application reports and visit reports.

· Shall support EHS initiatives within the local organization.

· Shall work in accordance within Sandvik's Code of Conduct.

· Shall comply with SMT quality system and initiatives.

· Shall comply fully and in good faith with the applicable antitrust and competition laws and regulations in countries where we operate.

· Shall focus on own product responsibility yet be willing to demonstrate a common SMT view when necessary, to ensure optimal synergies across the SU.

· Other tasks may be assigned by the manager.

Your profile:

· Bachelor degree in Material, Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Production or Industrial Engineering from a recognized institution. (Additional equivalent experience could replace a portion of the educational requirement.)

· Ideally with strong technical or production process knowhow of Steel/Petrochemical/Power generation industrial sectors.

· 3 to 7 years' experience in sales, preferably related to high temperature products.

· Detailed technical understanding of our products and the applications that our products are used in.

· To be willing and keen to develop his/her own level of competence in accordance with the rating required for their specific role (ref. to Sales function competencies).

· Drive to succeed.

· Result oriented.

· Fluency in Chinese and English, both spoken and written.

· Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to interact with people at all levels, both internally and externally.

· Team spirit and a service-minded approach.

· Must be computer literate.

· Must be prepared to travel a lot.

· Good sales skills and business acumen.

· Good problem-solving skills.

· Good presentation skills for both small and large group audience.

As a person you are proactive, self-motivated and one with lot of initiative, courage and integrity and a business minded, result oriented attitude. You also have strong communication skills and can work in an English environment.

· Travel frequency : The Field Sales must have willingness for extensive travelling in the designated field sales area
