Sandvik in Shanghai/Wuxi/Taipei is seeking for a Lapping Application Engineer

The position would directly report to Technical Marketing Manager in Worthington (Ohio, US), below please refer to the job description:

Key performance areas:

·Identify and implement new lapping and/or grinding technologies. Provide project leadership for the introduction of these new technologies into the Americas Application Development Center (AADC).

·Develop and implement lapping and/or grinding applications with customers and end-users. Provide lapping / grinding expertise to Sandvik Hyperion customers and their end-users by leading field trials and laboratory experiments, troubleshooting on site, and training. Help customers understand the benefits of proper material removal methods, as well as proper product selection based on application requirements.

·Work closely with product development team to drive the translation of end-user application needs into future new products.

·Develop test methods and measurement systems to quantitatively assess performance variations of competitive products.

·Project planning and milestone tracking.

·Individuals in this position are responsible for leading cross-functional project teams from process/product conception through commercial implementation.

Your profile:

·BS in Engineering or experimental physical sciences considered; however, individuals with advanced degrees with background in lapping / grinding and/or material removal processes are strongly preferred. Proven understanding of engineering fundamentals with solid conceptual skills.

·Ability to travel (at least 50% of the time) to domestic and international customer and end-user locations to lead application development programs and/or provide technical assistance to Sandvik Hyperion sales team to help qualify Sandvik Hyperion products in existing applications.

·Ability to effectively communicate fluently in both Chinese and English; conduct on-site and off-site customer presentations.

·Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams to develop new market applications.

·Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a timely manner with attention to detail and customer focus.

·Able to work independently with little direction or supervision.
