The Employer
The employer is part of a very large global corporation that offers a wide range of SMT solutions for the electronics, semiconductor and solar manufacturing industries. The company is looking for a dynamic sales professional to join the team as :
Position : Business Manager (SMT Equipment - Solar Energy)
Code : EXP/BM/SMT/SE/1013
Location : Major City, China
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will lead and develop sales channels and brand awareness in Greater China (China & China Taiwan); develop and implement value creation selling strategies for profitable and sustainable sales growth in line with company goals; and lead and coach key staff to ensure effective management and provide for the development of people throughout the organization. Key responsibilities include :
- To develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the continued sales and profit growth in line with group targets for all capital equipment sales, recurring revenue, marketing and distribution.
- In conjunction with direct regional sales persons:
o Manage distributors, agents and sales representatives
o Lead marketing/promotional activities to ensure market potential is maximized
o Expand the Company’s customer base as a potential source of new business; and develop business with new Tier 1/2 solar companies
- Work closely with operations manager to achieve on-time delivery, quality standards and operational excellence
- Through the Customer Support Manager, lead and develop the Customer Services activities towards becoming a profit centre
- Jointly work with the CTO to create opportunities to develop Innovative Solutions to enhance customer’s competitive advantage with fair price
- Lead and motivate the extended team instilling a highly proactive and focussed approach to winning business, ensuring a results-driven culture is central to the people management philosophy
- Work with regional Finance Controller, manage all financial elements of the business. Prepare the annual business plan and associated budget forecasts.
- Manage key customer relationships to ensure customer service and increased sales
- Schedule and conduct regular staff and partner meetings. Audit and monitor the activities to ensure the business is providing optimum service levels. Give work direction to the team, including prioritising activities.
- Be an active member of the company's Alternative Energy leadership team, supporting global initiatives
- Provide monthly and quarterly management reports and annual presentation focusing on agreed forecast and KPI’s.
- Develop quality measures, performance criteria and reporting processes throughout the job holder’s responsibilities that support continuous improvement and a quality culture
Requirements
Ideal candidates will have :
- Graduate/Post Graduate degree from a reputed institution
- Minimum of 3 years successfully managing and leading a small to medium sized team (min 10 staff) in the capital equipment or consumables production and sales sectors
- Minimum of 10 years experience successfully operating in key account management or direct sales role
- Possess a good working knowledge of the Solar Manufacturing industry together with process, service and product appreciation
- Good Leadership, Negotiation, Communication, Interpersonal and Presentation skills
- Planning, Co-ordinating, Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting skills
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of the financial aspects of running a successful business -able to interpret standard financial data and demonstrate a track record of taking appropriate business related decisions based on this information
- Experience of working successfully in a matrix organization and an ability to prioritize a variety of initiatives
- Able and willing to travel extensively nationally and internationally
- Fluency in English and Chinese mandatory (to deal with customers and counterparts in Greater China)
