OVERVIEW

The Assembly Operator is required to perform any combination of following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems as directed by the Production Manager.

KEY FUNCTIONS – HSEQ

Assist in maintenance of HSEQ system (in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001) for Radio Design Shipley:

– Ensure all projects/activities are carried out in accordance with the HSEQ system and report any non-conformances to the HSEQ Manager.

All personnel shall comply with the company HSEQ requirements as described in the HSEQ Manual and procedures. Also personnel must comply with specified client HSEQ requirements as appropriate.

All personnel must endeavour to foster a strong safety, health and environmental culture through adherence to the requirements, personal commitment, example and behaviour.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Work to assembly instructions, following production drawings and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.

Assemble, position or align parts in specified relationships using a variety of hand tools, powered screwdrivers and other associated bonding equipment to instructions.

Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.

Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing and colour coding parts and assemblies.

Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.

May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device.

Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers as required.

Be willing to work in a busy environment where work is carried out to exacting quality standards.

Be willing to expand on current skills and knowledge through continuous on-the-job learning and improvement.

Work well as part of a team in a disciplined and tidy manner respecting all relevant current legislation.

Be proactive in highlighting potential improvements to work instructions and procedures.

Additional duties as deemed necessary within the scope of this position.

Shift patterns may be applied should it become necessary as deemed by Management.
