Position Description: Field Service Engineer China
Reports to: Field Service Manager
Responsibilities:
1. Travel to customer site to do system startup and training, field troubleshooting and technical support. Individual will work with Visi-Trak Engineers and Field Service personnel until fully trained to work in the field. Will initially be trained in the assembly and testing and troubleshooting of Visi-Trak’s computer monitoring and control systems.
2. Provide technical support for Visi-Trak’s customers who call or e-mail with questions or issues related to their Sense, Monitor, or Control Systems and other Visi-Trak products.
3. Work closely with Visi-Trak sales personnel in China to assist with trade shows and demonstrations and other projects related to securing new business.
4. Work closely with Visi-Trak Software and Hardware Engineers to resolve quality issues with Visi-Trak’s systems (hardware and software issues).
Secondary Functions:
1. Assist with the development of new software and hardware users manuals, site preparation manuals, and training manuals.
2. Test and troubleshoot/repair new circuit boards.
3. Test and set up new systems including program loading and configuration.
4. In house electrical testing & research.
5. Evaluate, upgrade, and repair systems and components.
6. Troubleshooting and repair of products that are returned for evaluation.
7. Help with prototyping projects.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in related electronics field a plus.
2. Engineering degree.
3. Ability to speak Mandarin and English is preferred.
4. Ability and willingness to travel and work in die casting plants.
5. Ability to evaluate evidence and synthesize appropriate action plans.
6. Ability to diagnose and solve technical issues (software & hardware).
7. Mechanical aptitude/experience a plus.
8. Strong customer service skills.
9. Self-motivator and willingness to take initiative when necessary.
10. Good attitude and willingness to learn.
11. Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
