Key Tasks
1. Health, Safety, Management & Environment
- Design and implement operational work systems that allow people to keep safe
- Advocate a culture and behaviours that encourage all materials and logistics employees to operate in a safe work environment

2.Material handling labour utilisation
- Establish standard times for all implemented material handling systems
- Monitor & develop action plans to optimise
- Ensure all systems are running at 95%+ utilisation
- Compiles data on standardization and interchange-ability of parts to expedite logistics activities

3.Packaging optimisation
- Review packaging portfolio and develop standard specifications
- Ensure all packaging is within ergonomic guidelines
- Develop packaging to optimise freight utilisation
- Perform special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functions

4.Support of new business and products
- Ensure new product launch is supported in plant
- Design Material flow process
- Support Future consolidation/relocation/acquisition projects
- Participate in root cause analysis to determine material, supplier issues and complete corrective actions
- Develop and initiate preparation of handbooks, bulletins, and information systems to provide and supply logistics support
- Determine logistic support sequences and time phasing, problems arising from location of operational area, and other factors, such as environmental and human factors affecting personnel
- Design required supply chains for new business opportunities
- Provide analysis on material flow and logistics through the use of computer techniques, simulation or information systems and documentation

5.Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted business partner to relevant operations, procurement and engineering teams
- Work closely with plant MP&L Teams in all aspects of material handling
- Support program teams in the introduction of all new products and/or suppliers ensuring business cases are adhered to.
- Support the production team in the identification of material supply issues

6.Process & Procedure Development
- Design Material flow process for new facilities
- Review & standardise Material Flow on existing facilities
- Review, develop and recommend appropriate processes for all facets of the supply chain / logistics business
- Monitoring progress of recommended system enhancements
- Standardisation of operations processes
- Ensure lessons learned from MP&L audit is shared across plants.

7.Fast response to new business / information requests
- Present accurate information on new or existing business in regards to Futuris Logistics costs (packaging, labour, warehousing, etc)
- Maintain the Asian PFEP database to facilitate a central repository of valued and important logistical data
- Support and present on time and accurate data into new business quotations

Qualifications
-Undergraduate qualification in Logistics/Engineering/Manufacturing/Commerce or related discipline

Experience
-Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within a high volume manufacturing environment. (Process Engineering / Materials Flow / Time & Motion, packaging)
- Extensive experience in expediting materials in a computerised inventory operation
- Proven experience in a "Just In Time" and “Lean” environment, preferably in the Automotive Industry
- Desirable - experience in working with OEMs and Supplier base
- Experience with 3PL’s
- Understanding of lean concepts and proven experience in the application thereof
- Proven customer service orientation
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
- Good planning and organising skills with an orientation towards detail
- Initiative and be proactive in their approach
- Project management experience on small to medium projects

Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of MS Office suite to intermediate level
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
- Understanding and appreciation of lean principles
- Packaging and process engineering & design
- Fluent in English & Chinese both writing and speaking
- Well-developed analytical skills, with a high attention to detail
