Role Summary/Purpose

The role of Analyst-Lead Trade and Project Finance will be responsible for the day-to-day issuance and amendment of GECC/GE Co. Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees and Surety Bonds. Ownership for wing to wing L/C process from business request to bank payments and business reconciliation. Leveraging the ALOC system, APM, Corporate IBS tool. Primary region focus will be Asia and will interface with Corporate Surety Broker, Aon.

Essential Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
Assist with Contingent Liabilities quarterly Bank fee payments, become an expert on Fx portfolio revalue, Webcash interface, IBS interface, Corporate GL, and reconciliation.
Lead on instrument format reviews for Capital and Industrial businesses to ensure Corporate Compliance and Risk mitigation.
Lead for all bank amendments in the ALOC tool, on the Industrial and Capital side of GE. Interface daily with the businesses and Banks on extensions and auto renewals. Identify opportunities to streamline processes through digitization.
Facilitate Businesses Contingent liability reporting and Bank reconciliation reporting, cancellations of issuances, regular review of all open ended instruments with the opportunity to cancel where possible to save bank fees, and Quarterly Reconciliations with Banks and Businesses.
Assist with ALOC systems administration, Bank and Business user profile set-ups, Creation of new business and bank silo’s. Ownership for business verticals and hierarchy, Business Delegations of Authority, and Sox Level 1 reporting for ALOC and APM tools.
Coordinate with Treasury Americas team to ensure ECSO process is utilized for new credit requests relating to added Contingent Liability issuances on the GECC portfolio.
Ensure Policy 30.8 is followed for New Credit requests on the Industrial Portfolio
Align with the Capital L/C COE where needed on Bank Credit renewals; new issuances, Amendments, and monthly reporting consolidation ensuring sound operating processes.
Perform presentations /reports ad-hoc for Management review and Businesses when needed.
Review current ALOC payment process Via IBS, align with GBS making recommendations and implement to streamline the process.
Assist team with launch on the new ALOC tool, training Banks and Businesses.
Assist other teams to redesign the wing-to-wing process for Contingent liabilities process.
Create training tools on line for the business and banks RE: the ALOC tool and Trade Finance tutorials.
Identify opportunities to reduce exposure where possible, automate the reporting of L/Cs identify GAPS and process improvements.
Develop, maintain and update Leadership reporting packages to provide ongoing information on Outstanding, by business, bank, Country Bank fees, metrics trends and opportunities for improvement.
Perform ad-hoc analysis as required for special projects related to Contingent Liabilities.
Document and maintain detailed SOP’s for all processes i.e Bank Guaranty requests, BCP, Fee Payments to banks and charge back to Businesses.
Flexibility to provide back up support for all other team member.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Proficient in English & Chinese. Fluent spoken and written communications.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Trade Finance experience. Understanding of UCC policies, Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, and Surety Bonds.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word.
Experience working with Global Businesses and with External bank focus.
Experience creating and delivering business presentations and communicate effectively to Business Leaders using PowerPoint.
Quantitative analysis experience.
Eligibility requirements:
Must be willing to travel up to 10%, if applicable.
MUST be willing to work out of an office in Shanghai.

Desired Characteristics

Self-Starter that is detailed orientated, strong IT skills,
Master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or economics.
Experience in Finance, Treasury and Capital Financial Services.
Treasury experience in a GE Capital business, joint venture, Corporate Treasury, or with a Bank l/C Group.
Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions.
Self-Starter that is detailed orientated with strong IT skills.
High energy and self-motivated, with strong desire to learn, ability to multi task without getting flustered in a fast-paced environment.
