Job Description

Dispensing medication to patients and providing information about medication to patients and hospital staff

Responsibilities

1. Reviews and interprets prescription orders and verifies accuracy and completeness of patient labeling and input into pharmacy computer

2. Evaluates and resolves real or potential prescription related problems

3. Provides patient consultation on prescription and OTC medications

4. Establish a pharmaceutical care practice in conjunction with physicians and other care providers

5. Reviews inpatient orders and screens them for possible duplications, interactions

6. Dispense medication to hospitalized patients

7. Follow and understands all pharmacy policies and relevant hospital policies

Requirements

1. Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy or pharmacy specialty in a technical academy

2. Minimum of 3 years work experience in a pharmacy (community or hospital) setting

3. Be able to perform the pharmacy duties independently

4. Good communication skills in English and Chinese

5. Knowledge of government laws pertaining to drugs, narcotics and pharmacy practice
