What does the Siemens Graduate Program offer me?

- The Siemens Graduate Program (SGP) offers you the ideal start to your career – your opportunity to prepare yourself for a successful career at Siemens. Designed as an intensive and internationally oriented two-year program, the SGP will prepare you for future leadership tasks, offering both flexibility and diverse work experiences. The program, which enables you to actively integrate your interests and your qualifications, consists of three challenging eight-month assignments, during which you’ll be familiarized with at least two functional areas in one of our Sectors. One of these three assignments will take place abroad at one of our 1,700 international business locations. On this international rotation you’ll learn about the local business and culture while taking on various responsibilities and project work. You will also receive an intensive training program and the opportunity for personal development. A personal mentor will be at your side for the duration of the program, helping you to achieve your various objectives while promoting your development and assisting you in planning your career.

What are my responsibilities?

- After three challenging assignments in two years, one of them abroad, intense training on and off the job, and mentoring, the SGP program participants should be developed to be future leaders with management responsibilities.

- Responsible for all the drives products engineering / project tasks to engineers including target and time schedule.

- Define the new engineering process and continuously improve these processes.

- Close cooperate with the P2 production, testing and other dept. to improve the performance and quality of engineered drives cubicle.

- Analyze the engineering mistakes and make out the correct measures.

- Work out the employee’s development and training plan according to SEDL business strategy.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

- Master or comparable degree completed with above-average grades, also Ph. D. candidates are welcome

- Master majored in Electrical Engineering and Automation.

- Specific Requirements: Have the knowledge of electrical engineering, automation and mechanical engineering, familiar and understand drive products, working background in international companies is preferred.

- Significant experience of a foreign-speaking culture by way of an extended stay abroad or of meaning internship in international companies

- Fluency in English; knowledge of further languages is welcome

- Open-minded, highly motivated and ready to take on challenges

- Flexible, mobile and interested in working in an international and constantly changing work environment

What else do I need to know?

- Siemens Electrical Drives Ltd. (SEDL) is a joint venture production base for fully digital controlled AC and DC drives and motors owned by Siemens Ltd., China and its two Chinese partners. It’s set up at the beginning of 1995. Based on the state-of-the-art technology provided by Siemens Germany, SEDL manufactures drives, motors and generators of the same functionality, design and quality as the Siemens factories in Europe and America. From the beginning of 1996 till now, we have been producing digital AC & DC drives, traction converters, traction motors, industry motors and generators in our three workshops. A big step has been spanned to the goal that being the No.1 drives manufacturer in Asia-Pacific. Now hundred thousands of SEDL products have been used by domestic & overseas customers, such as in the fields of metallurgy, steel, mine, petroleum chemicals, heavy-lifting, elevator, paper, textile, railway transports and wind power. In 2006, SEDL got the export permit and thereby started the export business. Up to now, motor and converters from SEDL have been sold to Asia Pacific, South America, South Africa, etc.

- Cubicle production department (P2) is one of the three production workshops in SEDL. P2 provides drive cubicle products to customer for industry, energy generation and traction application. We have the full competence of design, manufacture and test. Besides Siemens standard products, P2 can also design and produce the customized non-standard products according to the market requirements. There’re nearly 200 employees in P2 and around 40 people of them are technical engineers. The average production capacity is 3500 pieces of different cubicles per year.
