About the company:

TCS produces wireless data communications technology solutions that require proven high levels of reliability. TCS' wireless data offerings include secure deployable communication systems and engineered satellite-based services; location-based wireless and VoIP Enhanced 9-1-1 services; messaging and location service infrastructure for wireless operators; and commercial location applications, like traffic and navigation, using the precise location of a wireless device.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for daily operational and development support to NIM Server Platform team.
· Design, develop and maintain NIM's server-side developer tools such as software build and install scripts, load-test automation.
·Administer Linux servers and developer workstations, including creation of Python tools and shell scripts to determine system health and automate admin tasks.
· Perform routine database administration (parameter tuning, schema updates).
· Work with other senior developers to improve existing system, fine tune system performance, and increase overall data throughput.
· Design, implement and maintain complex IT systems, including network, server and database interaction in conjunction with senior members of the Server Platform and Operations teams.
· Create labels and branches within SCM.
Qualifications:
·6+ years experience with Linux, FreeBSD, and other UNIX
·4+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Perl
·Experience with network and application protocols such as TCP/IP, ICMP, DNS, XML, HTTP
·Experience with SQL in one or more of the following environments: Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLite
·Working knowledge of multiprocessing, multithreading and distributed applications
·Knowledge of SCM tools and associated best practices
·Knowledge of system and applications configuration including: DNS, Apache, Syslog-NG, PostgreSQL, Oracle
·Ability to analyze and debug complex server applications across multiple datacenters
·Experience with best practices in server application security and development
·Desire to engage in challenging assignments.
·Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong collaborative skills.
·Experience working within a datacenter environment
