Role Synopsis (maximum 4000 characters):
In liaison with the Senior Technical Support Technologist and Technical Manager is accountable for all Used Oil analysis for Castrol Industrial China. The role will also assist with formulation blending and customer visits when necessary.
Key Accountabilities (maximum 4000 characters) :
This role is a key part of strategy delivery for the China Industrial team, and in this capacity the role holder will get the opportunity to interact and engage with technologists and business people across the whole Industrial value chain. There will be areas where the role holder would be called on to assist in product developments and modifications as well as customer interaction which in turn would lead to opportunities for career progression within the Industrial technology team.
Main Responsibilities:
To carry out testing methods on product samples in accordance with industry standards, such ASTM, IP, GB and Castrol Internal test methods.
To produce concise and accurate test reports in the prescribed format which detail the test methods, the results obtained and their meaning.
To operate in a safe, tidy and efficient style and ensure that records and retained samples are clearly labeled and stored in a well-organized manner.
To work closely with the Senior Technology Support Technologist to agree clear customer service priorities and deadlines.
To monitor the consumption of chemical reagents and other consumables in the laboratory and inform the Laboratory Manager when stocks need to be replenished.
To carry out all required administrative work punctually and to the required standard.
Maintain and follow the HSSE procedures of the laboratory;
Work closely with Senior Technology Support Technologist on monitoring lab calibration system.
Customer visit liaise with Technical Service team for routine request and trouble shooting.
Work under ISO 9001 standard.
Key HSSE Responsibilities associated with Role
Mandatory
· Comply with all BP's Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies and procedures including, wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE); accident, injury incident and near miss reporting; and the correct use of equipment
· Comply with all HSSE directions of your line manager or HSSE Manager
· Participate in HSSE training and discussions, workplace inspections and audits, and assist in the resolution of health and safety issues as required
· Contribute to successful implementation of HSSE programmes (such as OMS) and initiatives
In addition to the above, outline the HSSE responsibilities specific to this role
· Manage material safety data for Industrial products and associated raw materials.
· Manage risk assessments for new raw materials used in manufacturing
· Manage risk assessments for all new samples into laboratory and all new tasks perform
