The Category Manager is responsible for the development of suppliers according to PSG’s quality policies necessary to achieve pre-established quality standards by all providers and assuring that productivity process follows the quality programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide strong leadership and clear direction for assigned commodities in strategic and tactical supply chain activities to support both PSG China business growth.

• Developing and implementing commodity strategies, identifying and managing cost savings and cost avoidance projects, strategically overseeing suppliers, supporting company objectives as they relate to on-time-delivery and inventory management, as well as driving dual sourcing and risk mitigation initiatives across the business.

• Responsible for providing support to buyers regarding production-related needs, and serving as the commercial liaison between Engineering and Quality

• Work as the liaison between Quality, Engineering and the supplier to support technical discussions

• Ability to effectively communicate with team members and suppliers across the world

• Assist in make/buy analysis and other strategic procurement decisions

• Work with internal Procurement Team, Dover Category Managers, PSG Supply Chain Director to achieve goals

• Conform to all ISO 9001 policies and procedures, Company Code of Ethics, and Company Purchasing Policies

• Collaborate with planners and buyers to meet program and production schedules, employing best practice methodology regarding asset management and cost control

• Manage cost savings and risk mitigation projects through the use of a Toll Gate system

• Achieve in-depth product and commodity knowledge to understand the relationship between supplier technology, capabilities, processes, and capacities

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree – Procurement, Logistics, Business, Engineering or related field

• 5+ years’ experience in purchasing/materials/supply chain management/supplier quality/engineering

• Project/commodity management experience, preferred in machining, casting, injection etc.

• Knowledge of, ERP/MRP/MRP II systems

• Good communication with fluent English
