Engineering Director, China

Summary

The Engineering Director will lead the Engineering Department of a reputable company in design, development, test, and implementation of the company’s products. The Engineering Director will work closely with the headquarter, specifically the Research and Development and Manufacturing department, to ensure that the work meets the company’s needs and that the opportunities and benefits of current and future development are understood and reflected in the company’s roadmap and priorities.

This position reports to the General Manager of the company

Work Location : Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, implementation and test the company’s products.

• Support registrations and commercialization of the company’s products.

• Establish long-term vision, goals, policies, and procedures for the Engineering department.

• Develop and manage relationships with vendors, universities, and other third-party technology providers to integrate technology that enhances the company’s products.

• Hire, develop, train, and motivate an engineering team.

• Works closely with company’s management team and Headquarter’s Research & Development

  Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other departments

• Establish the company’s research priorities and incorporation research into the product development process.

• Manages the operating budget for the Engineering department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a top-level Chinese university. Master’s Degree preferred
• 10-15 years of leadership experience in product development of complex systems that involves software, hardware, and other control components. Experience in medical device highly preferred.
• Evolving experience and responsibility with R&D functions (requirements, design, development, test, deployment)
• Proven ability to take a product development from the concept stage, through R&D and manufacturing, all the way to customer deployment.
• Management experience of sr. engineers and managers at a mid. Size team (20 – 30 etc.)
• Project Management skills are essential.
• Experience working with international company. Preferably US company.
• Excellent team-work skills, collaboration and communication.
• Very energetic and eager to succeed, but also friendly and eager to collaborate
• Excellent command of English and Chinese.
