ONE TO ONE TUTOR 1-1 TUTOR

FUNDAMENTAL TASK: To assist in providing a more effective teaching programme for a student in senior school in support of heads of EAL and SEN, the subject teachers and the school as a whole.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide excellent service to parents, greet and assist parents with their child’s language learning additional learning needs

2. To teach according to school policies the agreed number of lessons under the guidance of the Heads of EAL and SEN each week during term-time.

3. Shadow and work with a student who requires support within the classroom setting when required.

4. Have knowledge and understanding of the curriculum at a level which will assist effective teaching of basic skills.

5. Strive to become increasingly effective in developing the student’s language, reading, writing and other skills.

6. Assist in English and social development of the student under the direction.

7. Help to create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment for the student to learn in.

8. Be able to maintain the student’s interest and motivation.

9. Present English learning tasks and curriculum content in a clear and stimulating manner.

10. Communicate clearly and effectively with children through questioning, instructing, explaining and feedback.

11. The ability on tutoring reading and writing in IELTS would be desirable

QUALIFICATIONS:

• College/University or above

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Fluent English both oral and written

2. Desirable EAL related teaching certificate

3. Be patient, flexible, mature, responsible and positive

4. Background in education

5. Interpretation skills

The post holder will NOT be employed by Wellington Tianjin but by certain parents whose child learn in Wellington TJ.
