Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
Deliver value cost savings targets for the MRO & Consumables categories
Contribute to the development of category strategies, plans and priorities, and identifying opportunities to leverage value or mitigate risk from changes in markets
Implement sourcing initiatives that ensure delivery of business plans and category strategies.
Work closely with the relevant PSCM & business team and provide support at request.
Effectively utilize available standard Procurement tools and processes developed by PSCM Shared Service Offer & Strategy Team
Will be responsible for market intelligence and in-depth supplier research for target commodities/products, including industry analysis, benchmark companies supply base assessment, supplier profiles
Be a key member of category team that performs commodity strategy, sourcing, supplier negotiations and for those orders placed into the Asia Region, part of the supplier performance management process
Build and maintain profiles of supply market and key suppliers
Actively track the supply market to take advantages of prevailing opportunities
Proactively explores the wider supply and industry markets to identify opportunities that BP can leverage for benefit delivery or to mitigate a supply risk
Is accountable for the accuracy of the analysis performed related to the market sector/category strategy and sourcing projects
Employ financial analysis and economic modeling skills to evaluate supplier proposal pricing and develop flexible contractual pricing model options to recommend to site PSCM / business
Participate as a member of team to conduct sourcing process for MRO & Consumables categories
Identify, implement and realize value through effective ''strategic cost management'' utilizing best in class methods and tools
Undertake due diligence in mitigating external supply risk from supplier selection through to contract execution
Fully participate in the end to end sourcing process, including the right levels of involvement in bid package preparation, bidder list development, One source event, bid evaluation, supplier selection and supplier notification
Participate in Supplier Performance Management reviews for MRO & Consumables commodities
Aggregate demand across user groups
Capture, share and apply lessons learned and best practices
Support site technical teams in the development of clear specifications, ITPs and statements of work that will maximize market opportunity and reduce risk
Measure influenced spend and value delivered
Establish and develop business partner relationships
Develop and manage supplier relationships, including metrics, measurement and corrective actions for MRO & Consumables categories
Provide information and counsel on to peers and leadership as to market trends, cost drivers and cost control strategies, risk mitigation strategies
Responsible to deliver value targets contained in annual MY Plan
Authority to execute contracts and make commitments within Delegation of Authority
Responsible for supplier communications & follow-up to screen suppliers
Responsible for development and maintenance of supplier profiles for qualified suppliers
Provide Supplier communications & follow up to ensure timely response to the BP RFx/tender or e-auction requirements
Visit supplier facilities as part of pre-qualification where appropriate.
Update market intelligence data and monitor supply market dynamics
Support Category Mgr / Supplier Development Mgr in the development and implementation of formal supplier development programs
Capture, document and address stakeholder complaints about supplier quality
Capture, document and escalate, where appropriate, to IPO leadership stakeholder feedback about IPO performance
Supports and enable a high performing team
Participates in company networks, sharing information, best practices and lessons learned.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, technical degree
>5 years experience in PSCM in heavy industry, Oil and Gas preferred
Good English language skills (both speaking and writing)
Fluent in both English & Mandarin
Preferred to have had previous role performing category management with international scope
Good analytical & market research skills
Pro-active self-starter, capable of working with limited supervision
Good communication & engagement skills
Good negotiation skills
Committed team player
High personal integrity and ethical standards
Strong performance bias
Basic knowledge of economics
Basic knowledge of international trade
Preferred to have had previous role performing category management with international scope
