General Summary:
? Leadership role for Marsh and Guy Carpenter of China, reporting to the MMC China Controller with day-to-day focus on leading, managing and coordinating a team of professionals to ensure excellence in outcomes of both technical and operational delivery.
? Responsible and accountable for all financial accounting activities in the Marsh and Guy Carpenter including financial reporting and financial systems interface.
? Highly visible role accountable and ultimately responsible for quality and accuracy of the financials, all related accounting decisions, integrity of internal control compliance, timeliness and quality of all routine submissions including statutory filings and internal and external audits.
? Responsible for the stakeholder support model and to ensure high service quality and satisfaction, and is able to navigate and manage the size and complexity of the Marsh and Guy Carpenter.
? A champion and key enabler of Global Controllership Vision to build an Elite Organization. Able to build and manage a motivated and efficient team.


 Responsibilities:

Leading People (20% of time):
? Articulates and sets a clear vision that generates a strong sense of ‘Team’ culture and identity among a small team of technical and analytical experts.
? Manages a team that possesses knowledge to ensure first-time quality submissions able to be relied upon by the China MMC Controller.
? Responsible for setting effective cadence protocols to ensure local teams meet all deliverables and effectively manage communications on process changes and business as usual delivery requirements across the country.
? Ensures own team members have SMART goals aligned around the vision, are provided with continuous performance feedback and feel enabled to progress in personal development objectives.
? Acting as Chief of Staff assists the MMC China Controller in setting and achieving the right Country wide Culture and Values Framework.
? Coordinates Talent Management activities such as ensuring Country goals aligned with Controllership Global Goals.
? Coordinates and administers employee survey action plans across the country to ensure aligned focus and outcomes.
? Coordinates and administers training requirements across the country.

 Supporting Stakeholders (40% of time):
? Articulates a clear stakeholder support model designed to maintain Controllership credibility by delivering high quality support while maintaining Independence.
? Builds relationships and seen as a key partner to Country Corporate stakeholders including FP&A teams, Tax, Treasury, legal, compliance and Corporate Reporting.
? Maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax consultants, banks and related regulatory bodies.

Day to Day Operations (20% of time):
? Ensures the wide ranging Corporate deliverables are met on time and to high quality with risks raised and managed at an early stage including reporting, statutory accounts, regulatory challenges and treasury and tax matters.
? Ability to quickly attain deep technical knowledge across multiple operating companies while actively cascading that knowledge to help build strong and well informed operational and project teams and stakeholders.
? Owning and taking accountability for the quality preparation of Regional reporting, providing quality assurance of the trial balance, and providing technical assistance on accounting policy.
? Final line of defense for key balance sheet controls, specific P&L reports, and revenue policy adherence.
? Owning all MMC / OpCo allocations processes across the country to ensure effective delivery, appropriate supporting documentation and regular liaison with MMC Tax on country specific issues.
? Tracking acquisition related items and managing impairment risks including supporting due diligence and post integration set ups.
? Preparation and development of ad-hoc reports to support the requirements of the MMC China Controller.

Driving Continuous Improvements (20% of time):
? Responsible for proactively and continuously identifying Country wide opportunities to operate more efficiently and effectively to reduce wastage, improve speed of delivery and enhance quality. And to bring recommendations to the attention of the MMC China Controller.
? Performs audit of all existing reports and provides recommendations to optimize.
? Proactively supports the delivery of global improvement initiatives.
? Develops knowledge of country level systems and processes to ensure global processes and policies are followed at all times.
? Track all projects that involve the Country. Ensure deep understanding and awareness to be able to provide insight, recommendations and provide active participation where required.
