职位描述：

Job Summary:
The designer’s main responsibility will be to provide accurate and timely designs and drawings to our internal and external customers for all assigned projects following customer specific requirements and internal processes. The individual will also be responsible to ensure that work is communicated to the pertinent groups per established protocol and operating procedures. The individual should stay informed of evolutions in technology and design best practices that occur regularly throughout the industry which relate to the job function, efficiency, performance, product attributes, and subsequently recommend improvements to internal process and training of personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Part conception and design using CAD software
2. Design feasibility input to applications engineering.
3. Participate in customer design and technical reviews as needed
4. Prioritize workflow based on importance and time to completion
5. Provide weekly reports of work status
6. Establishment of yearly goals both personal and departmental in support of corporate goals.
7. Consult with appropriate staff in the development and build of sample and prototype product.
8. Participate in project meetings, feasibility studies and quoting processes as requested
9. Consult with the applications engineering on matters involving manufacturing tooling and processes
10. Remain current with technology advances within work specialty and adapt where justified
11. Establish and maintain design procedures that will promote a productive design department
12. Develop and adhere to standardized design specifications and procedures
13. Maintain records and follow procedures as outlined in the Lydall Quality Manual and Engineering Department Work Instructions.

14. Establish and maintain effective communication with sources and recipients of necessary information, keeping managers and others informed where their responsibilities are affected

15. Contribute to cost saving ideas and program implementation
Other:
· Serve as an active participant in LSS programs that promote continuous improvement
· Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules
· Must be able to work extended hours when required
· All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:
(If a degree is required it must be from an accredited institution)
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in product design
· Must have extensive computer aided design experience with emphasis in surfacing and solids
· Must have basic working knowledge of GD&T
· Functional with MS Office
· Excellent communication, organizational, and multi- tasking skills
· Ability to work independently with present and future customers
· Ability to lead a project from conception to completion
· Ability to work with and Application engineers in determining unique design solutions for customer’s need.

Additional Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
(If a degree is required it must be from an accredited institution)
· 2 or 4 year technical degree or certificate in CAD
· Specific knowledge in NX or Catia
