Job Description
The portfolio product manager will be responsible to own the complete life cycle management of a global portfolio of products to achieve company financial goals. The individual will work as part of a cross functional team under the guidance for the Director, Portfolio Management to manage products through product development and commercialization. Duties include VOC preparation, new product requirements, financial justifications, product launch, preparing marketing collateral, website content, capacity management, and pricing. PPM is accountable for P&L and company growth objectives.
The individual should be self-motivated; able to reduce ambiguous information to concrete, actionable recommendations; and comfortable working with groups of varying constituents to drive portfolio and execute set milestones. The individual must have the capacity for strategic thinking and desire to execute tactically on the business plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
?Responsible for definition and prioritization of product requirements for products in development. Utilizes market research techniques and customer visits to gather voice of customer (VOC) information and converts data into a product requirements matrix that can be used in development by the technical team.
?Works closely with R&D to optimize product offering given business needs, market needs, schedule limitations, and resource constraints. Remains engaged in the product development process once specifications finalized to ensure proper implementation.
?Acts as a liaison with R&D, sales, MARCOM, and operations to develop global marketing and commercial plan, product requirements, and promotional activities.
?Collaborates with various functional groups to prepare and execute global product launch and marketing collateral.
?Develops and implements strategic product and annual business plans targeting markets, industries, and customers. Identifies product line trends and technologies. Leads long range product planning. Works with portfolio director to generate business plans, marketing plans, and presentation material.
?Performs analysis and advises portfolio director regarding proposed changes to global portfolio based on strategic, market, technical, and competitive changes.
?Manages new product development activity with extending and growing the life of assigned portfolio.
?Serve as technical expert to support global sales, MARCOM, and work directly with R&D, FAE, and sales teams to solve technical problems.
?Responsibilities include strategic planning, market analysis, competitive analysis and positioning, segmentation/targeting strategy, pricing, and profitability including financial objectives and measurement, forecasting, ownership of product portfolio development, market deployment and acceptance.
?Analyzes, interprets, and mages a global product portfolio, including budgeting and financial ROI and recommends investments to maximize total company profitability and revenue.
?Develops and drives the product portfolio strategies to global sales organization.
?Advises plant product manager regarding portfolio strategies, future product direction, cost reductions, and problem resolution to support financial goals.
?Perform other related duties as assigned by management
