Responsibilities:
Work directly with customers to identify, root cause and resolve issues with Radisys products as well as system configurations using Radisys and third-party products. Support is provided for customers through their development, production, and release stages.
Reproduce customer issues in our Technical Support Lab, identify workarounds and work with Radisys engineering to resolve customer problems in a timely manner.
Ensure contracted response, work-around and resolution times are met.
Facilitate communication between customers and Radisys engineering for technical support, feature requests, demo support and new product development. Understand the customer environment and application to anticipate issues and guide engineering to providing the best solutions, becoming an internal expert and advocate for assigned customers.
Ability to travel up to 25% of working time.
Manage customer escalations involving the coordination of various company resources to reach resolution. Responsible for communicating comprehensive and timely updates to customers and Radisys management team.
Grow in knowledge of Radisys systems and technologies as well as industry standards and trends in order to grow the quality of service and future service offerings for Radisys customers.
Requirements:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 2 years of experience designing, testing or supporting computer-based platforms and networked systems.
Ability to work on problems of a diverse scope, analyze customer data, and research internal and industry technical information for solutions.
Ability to fluently speak, read, and write English and Japanese. Ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
Results oriented, self-motivated, innovative with high ownership of customer relationships.
Demonstrated ability to organize and work on multiple issues simultaneously.
Desired skills:
Experience with ATCA, IP networking, Ethernet switches and routers, network load balancers, SDN, x86-based CPUs and/or blade server environments.
Knowledge of Linux user and kernel environments.
Experience with software development using Linux, C, Python and/or Perl programming languages.
Experience diagnosing hardware/software related issues.
Experience creating and delivering training material to internal and external customers.
