Responsibilities of the position involves engineering part of work of new product development, improvement of existing products, cost reduction, resourcing and supplier selection activities. Lead projects and drive supplier to meet spec, cost and timeline.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to US engineering on advanced engineering tasks in early stages of new product development, including search and evaluation of new technology, new processes, new materials and etc.
2. Provide support to US design team and US engineering team:
？ Provide input on CMF, manufacturing process/capability;
？ Work with supplier to finalize detail structural design based on ID, product functionality requirements, marketing claims, safety requirements. Deliver final 3D CAD files and 2D drawings;
？ Facilitate prototyping as needed.
3. Lead engineering activities from tooling development to first production following NPD process, working with Sourcing, Quality, Packaging, Lab, US team and supplier team.
？ Support selection of supplier for a new product.
？ Create and review cost BOM working with supplier, support cost negotiation as needed.
？ Perform tooling study with supplier engineering.
？ Kick off tooling development with suppliers.
？ Perform off tool sample evaluation, improvement. Approve and sign off samples for factory. Drive pilot production.
？ Collect all documents for PSA (Production Start Authorization). Support golden Sample review process.
？ Develop and finalize product testing plan. Facilitate testing together with QA team, review/ interpret testing results, release engineering conclusion.
？ Facilitate UL/ETL cert process.
？ Develop schedule working with sourcing and supplier that covers tooling development, trials, testing, pilot production. Track and update progress in weekly basis, manage and solve issues to keep development on track.
？ Compile and document engineering documentation in completion of a NPD project.
？ Performs other works/ projects as directed by the Department Manager.
4. Perform engineering part of work in resourcing and cost reduction projects;

Qualification requirements:

1. B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
2. 8+ yeas working experiences in related field.
3. Strong background on electric motors, heaters and other electric/electronic components, understand circuit design concepts and component selection requirements.
4. Strong background on metal and plastic tooling: stamping, deep draw, injection, die casting…Tooling costing.
5. Able to trouble shoot tooling problems to meet cosmetic or production requirements.
6. Extensive experience in production and assembly, process control and optimization. Good knowledge on process capability analysis and improvement.
7. Strong background in regulatory and compliance requirements. Familiar with UL/ETL cert.
8. Good spoken and written English. Ability to participate in meetings in English and travel with English speaking visitors.
9. Willing to travel for onsite work in factories up to 60% work time. Ability to adapt to a very fast pace. Ability to organize and manage workload in order to effectively support multiple projects.
