NATURE AND SCOPE:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for directing approximately 50 manufacturing team members focus on a new customer product.
The incumbent to this position is responsible for effective timely production output, control and improve productivity and efficiency, safe working conditions, good team member and employee relations, environmental compliance, and any emergency situations.
The Production Supervisor must communicate regularly with PMC, PIE, Quality Assurance and Human Resources.
He/she must advise management on potential product and quality issues, environmental/safety issues, labor relations issues, facilities issues, personnel issues.
This individual will be the primary contact with employees for concerns on the production area.
The Production Supervisor may assess discipline, including decision-making leaves and terminations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise and continuous improve all manufacturing operations on his assigned production area. Responsible for key performance measures such as productivity, production volume, quality, and safety.This would include meeting established production schedules and supervising the activities of production team members.
2. Assure 6S in production area making sure all the material is in the right place. Improve continuously the efficiency and productivity of the lines assigned making sure the operators have the right equipment and instruction to fulfill the assigned tasks. Assure lines are correctly balance and identify and address balance issues immediately.
3. Handle all team member concerns and issues. Staff, train, evaluate, develop, discipline, communicate with, and direct team members.
4. Address facilities and maintenance issues, including utilities and fire protection.
5. Actively foster a safe and healthy work environment. This is done through promoting, supporting, and enforcing safe work practices through company safety programs. 6. Perform special projects as assigned by the Plant Manager.
