ROLE PURPOSE:

To lead the whole Assembly Engineering team to support production and improve yield, quality, productivity and reduce cost. To direct the engineering team to provide solutions on process problems using analytical and engineering approach.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for the management of the Process Engineering staff for generation and support of manufacturing processes, including procedures, equipment and training of production staff.
* Responsible for the direction and supervision of the Process Engineering with regards to training, motivation, development, and staffing.
* Assists Director of Assembly Operations in establishing policies, procedures, systems, practices and development/control of department/project budgets.
* Perform project management, planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
*Responsible for ensuring that all project specific tasks are staffed with the required skill mix needed to solve complex technical problems such as process optimization.
* Write project proposals, capital justifications, specifications and operating procedures in support of management and technical leadership responsibilities.
* Applies extensive management expertise, engineering knowledge and hands-on problem solving skills to lead and facilitate continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
* Responsible for leading the optimization of production processes utilizing relevant methodologies such as continuous improvement and root cause problem solving.
* Responsible for pulling and gating the transfer of new product from NPI phase to mass production.
* Collaborate with materials management and R&D to select technology and suppliers for the manufacture of product components and process equipment for released products to reduce overall costs, improve quality, reliability, and timeliness of deliveries.
* Responsible for collaborating with the PPD group to review, accept and support the new product processes and equipment for release and introduction into production. 
* Responsible for leading the Process Engineering Team to meet relevant KPI's deployed to them

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* BS in Engineering; Masters Degree in Engineering preferred.
* Minimum 10 years working experience in semiconductor assembly environment.
* Minimum of 4 years experience in management and 6 years experience in technical leadership of engineering staff.
* Understanding and knowledgeable in DOE application.
* Strong knowledge in PFMEA, Control Plan, Process spec, MRB, SPC/DMAIC & 8D generation.
* Strong people management and interpersonal skills
* Experience with recruiting, hiring and retention of technical staff
* Experienced in conducting performance appraisals, salary actions and performance improvement programs.
* Experienced in establishing and implementing policies, procedures and work standards to meet established company goals and objective
* Ability to lead and work effectively with cross-functional teams
* Strong project management and presentation skills.
* Excellent problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
* Experienced in suppliers' selection/management.
* Familiarity with international QMS standards.
* Ability to synthesize and communicate complex problems to diverse audiences.
* Strong customer management and interfacing skills
* Fluent in spoken & good command in written English.
