Description: This position is responsible for sourcing key commodities with primary focus on LED, driver, lens, die casting, LED finished goods etc., also monitor daily purchasing material to assure the delivery on time for production or customer orders. Working with internal different teams—engineering, QC, production, receiving, product management team to assure both new projects and daily production runs smoothly.

I. Duties/ Responsibilities:

a. Support new projects /development by working on cross functional teams. Selecting, approving and qualifying the best suppliers in this market and assuring proper set-up of suppliers and components to JLG standards. Assure the managed commodities’ new part samples supplies on time to meet projects timeframe.

b. Develop additional and/or alternate sources of supply for critical components for long term productivity.

c. Visit/ audit supplier facilities and determine supplier’s ability to meet delivery, quality and technical requirements of JLG. Employ cost reduction techniques with emphasis on value analysis and negotiations.

d. Develop, communicate and implement long-term material acquisition plans including: supplier development, inventory management, cost management, quality systems and metrics.

e. Manage the corrective action process to address non-conforming materials. Negotiates recovery of cost incurred by JLG, if applicable.

f. Review any discrepancies with invoices or material receipts as needed.

g. Review MRP reports weekly to issue Pos/ reschedules to assure products/parts delivery on time

h. Identifies risks for the managed commodities/suppliers and define & work out associated corrective action plans with business partners.

i. Supplier relationship management.

j. Analysis spending data for materials to develop supplier consolidation, cost reduction opportunities

k. Some domestic and international travel necessary-approx. 5-10%

II. Qualifications:

a. Education: 4 year degree or equivalent experience,

b. Commodity knowledge of LED, electronics, mechanics—metal/plastic,

c. Work experience: 5-10 years, 3 years+ in lighting industry

d. Strong negotiation skills, strong problem solving skills, ability to collect facts and make independent decisions

e. Strong cost analysis, excellent analytical skill required, project management and problem solving skills and understanding of manufacturing and general engineering

f. Knowledge of supply chain management system and ISO quality system audits

g. Excellent interpersonal conflict management and communication skills, be able to work in cross functional/cross culture environment

h. Microsoft powerpoint, word and excel technical skills are a must and prior experience utilizing an ERP system is preferred.

i. Act independently on routine work, general instructions on new assignments

j. Must be good English communication skills.
