Product engineering experience and expertise

Electronics systems including: Analog systems, digital systems, micro-processor/microcontroller systems, radio frequency systems, instrumentation systems, buck/boost/linear power supply systems
CAD/CAE experience including: Mechanical CAD, schematic capture, circuit simulation and analysis, PCB design & layout
Software engineering including: Writing assembly language code, writing embedded C, writing PC applications utilizing C, Extensive use of cross assemblers, compilers, simulators, and targeted emulation systems
. Design validation including: Creating hardware and software test methods, creating hardware and software test plans, executing testing activities, writing test reports, specifying and procuring sophisticated test equipment, conducting tolerance stack up analysis, mastery of all common electronic test equipment
Engineering product documentation including: Component drawings and specifications, sub-assembly drawings and specifications, system level drawings and specifications, bill-of-materials, schematics, 2D/Isometric mechanical drawings, exploded view drawings
Non-electronic engineering disciplines including: Materials, plastics and injection molding, AC and DC motors, mechanisms, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics
Engineering practices and disciplines including: Design FMEAS, process FMEAS, design rules, design reviews, design for manufacturability, document revisions, document configuration management, document control, design-of-experiments
. Regulatory and compliance standards including: UL/ETL safety listings, EMI/EMC (FCC), Toxicity (Prop 65, ROHS, CPSIA, IEEE), UN 38.3, CEC (Energy Efficiency), FDA, Children products regulations (CPSC/CPSIA)
Experience building and managing high-caliber engineering teams including: Job descriptions, recruiting, mentoring, performance reviews, and team dynamics
Experienced in project and program mgt including: Team meetings, timelines, specifications, resource management, and budgets
Experienced in locating, qualifying, and utilizing specialized engineering service provider companies:

Product testing services including: Retail specified independent 3rd-party product testing, regulatory & compliance testing, UL/ETL safety listings, EMI/EMC, and toxicity
Engineering services including: Electronics design engineering, software design engineering, plastics design engineering, system-level design engineering
Fabrication services including: Low volume electronic assemblies, low volume plastics machining and fabrication, low volume SLA/SLS production, low volume custom sheet-metal part production, low volume wire harness production, unique one-off electro-mechanical test fixtures
Managing engineering service provider companies including: Specify and manage engineering expectations, protect and manage sensitive engineering information, quoting
