Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:
? Develop suppliers quality systems and technical capabilities
? Manage internal customers at multiple factories (eg Malaysia, China, and Australia)
? Drive Root Cause Failure Analysis encompassing Finisar factory processes and supplier capabilities
? Duties include translating supplier capabilities to design team on new designs, confirming supplier conformance, and resolving supplier issues.
? Work in a team environment with Commodity Managers to review designs and sourcing decisions. This includes leading Supplier System audits, participating in design reviews, integrating DFM feedback from supplier, drawing approval, and issuing final approval for suppliers to begin production builds.
? Develop quality related procedures and correlate back to suppliers. (eg Visual Mechanical Inspections).
? Implementing Supplier Quality procedures at new locations. (eg Audits, SCARs, PCN, First Article)
? Cost reduction at supplier by improving yields and reducing # of defects.

Education & Experience:
? Technical: expertise in machining, plastic molding, die casting, stamping, and plating
? Expert in SPC implementation and maintenance, establish dashboards
? Drive “Cost of Quality” and optimizing Cpks by commodity
? Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
? Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 50%
? Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical
? Understanding of mechanical drawings, including GD&T
? Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, and RoHS requirements
? 5+ years of supplier quality engineering experience, including auditing
