Reports to: Asia Sourcing Leader
Job Type: Full time regular
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Asia Sourcing Leader, this position will be responsible for the business development, supplier placement, shipment, and post shipment processes for the designated product responsibilities throughout the Asia region. This position will identify, validate, and manage the supply base and other third party relationships with international collaboration within quality control and operations with the detail requirements listed, but not limited to, as shown below
a. Business Development
Identifies potential suppliers by pre-screening their production capacity, capabilities and business expectations.
Conducts market research and investigates product trends.
Communicates market intelligence to Product Managers and work closely with both Product Development and Operation team in US.
Ensures all sourcing objectives are met, including pricing and styling details and deadlines.
Coaches suppliers to interpret product objectives and liaison appropriately with Production Services.
Retrieves all necessary information from systems to complete the above functions.
b. Supplier Relations
Provides development samples and costing information in a timely and effective manner.
Maintains strong relationships with suppliers to ensure production process and output-such as capacity, sample submissions, revisions, negotiations-are meeting company standards and expectations.
Ensures suppliers are coached on standard procedures and business expectations.
c. Program Management
Executes the sampling and order management process by communicating and liaising with appropriate counterparts Is responsible for post-placement follow-up and testing.
Coordinates with other functional areas like QC and Production Artists to ensure all approval processes are compliant and completed on time.
Required Skills & Experience
· Minimum 3-5 years purchasing experience managing multiple commodities required, Bachelor's degree required. Preferred emphasis of Operations or Supply Chain Management
· Demonstrated knowledge and skills in inventory management practices such as order policy codes, demand management, lead-time, reduction and consumption based pull systems
· Excellent verbal & written communications skills, highly collaborative with team focus, persuasive and experience effectively leading change.
· Strong knowledge of procurement practices, excellent negotiation skills
· Strong project management skills, demonstrated experience with continuous improvement process and quality initiatives
