KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a newly created role as part of Finisar's growing global supply chain organization. The role is based in Shenzheni, China.
Primary responsibility is supply chain program management for projects interfacing with R&D, commodity management and procurement teams in a global environment.
Working with engineers from the US design team and other R&D facilities, along with commodity managers, supplier development, procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure program success on a worldwide basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the supply chain domain of various design activities, coordinate with engineering and commodity management in supplier selection, ensure material availability for NPI and transition to production.
The program manager position also interfaces with marketing to coordinate and manage multiple sourcing qualification activities for cost down or supply chain risk mitigation for sustaining products and to meet customer expectations.
Travel is required for project coordination across multiple geographies.

Experience in program management and/or customer support of product development projects in a high technology global company with multi-regional teams required.
Experience in supply chain management, procurement, commodity management or strategic sourcing is required.
Experience in the optical industry is required.
Ability to think and act globally across multiple cultures, time zones and functions.
Strong ability to analyze impact of changes in quality, cost and continuity of supply during new product transitions and engineering changes orders.
Strong time management skills, and process oriented.
Highly self-motivated with a strong multi-disciplinary background and ability to multi-task in an ambiguous environment.
This person should enjoy a high-energy atmosphere in which tasks can be accomplished simply, and directly.
Fluent in English: verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skill.
Fluent in Mandarin.
Good knowledge of graphics and spreadsheet software applications.
This candidate have at least 5+ years of relevant experience and a BS from an accredited University. MBA is a plus.
