Job Description:

? The Packaging Engineer position will support the growth, quality and productivity initiative in China office in line with the HoMedics global strategy

? The Packaging engineer will be responsible in planning, executing and controlling the packaging projects so that we have 100% quality and timely execution in line with the HoMedics packaging standards.

? He/she will be also required to support daily project transactions by working with cross functional teams in the HoMedics and also with suppliers and manufactures to resolve the packaging defects and issues.

? The Packaging engineer will initiate and finish cost saving of packaging project on his own motivity.

? He will be based on Shenzhen and travel to suppliers in Southern China frequently.


Responsibilities:


? Initially review packaging information – die line, material, coating, appearance to ensure the packaging 100% meet the HoMedics packaging specification as well as cost saving requirement.

? Support marketing, project as well as quality team to review and resolve packaging issues with suppliers.

? Review packaging by looking at transportation, cost, loading optimization etc. to final confirm and release production.

? Resolve packaging issues with suppliers and packaging vendors.

? Review existing and new packaging to define and drive cost-reduction activities

? Oversee and manage packaging quality & performance in every aspect – design & production capability, on-time delivery, quality, cost and service.

? Train the suppliers on the HoMedics packaging specification and approval procedure, updates as required

? Learn/develop the packaging knowledge and expertise


Position Requirements


? Bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering.

? Minimum 5 years packaging experience in Consumer Electronic Products or Home Appliances industries with a multinational company in China or Asia

? Experience in New Product Development and familiar with US Market, with US Buying Office experience will be an advantage

? Familiar with supply base in China with manufacturing operations (OEM) or international subcontract manufacturing operations (CEM/EMS)

? Strong experience and knowledge of multiple packaging material, printing and manufacturing processes after printing, testing on material and finished goods, structure, loading

? Rich knowledge on eco-friendly packaging material and strong sense of sustainability

? Skillful to manage multiple packaging projects, including project definition, prioritization, planning, implementation and control

? Strong experience with supplier identification, evaluation, qualification and follow up

? Rich packaging supplier resource and good at packaging cost estimation

? Extensive current experience, and successful track record as packaging engineer

? Highly motivated individual who can work independently; Positive “can do” attitude to try and solve any problem; detail oriented with excellent follow up skills.

? Fluency in Mandarin and English language skills a must (written and verbal)

? Interpersonal skills - exceptional listening, understanding, influencing and communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills - politically astute

? Travel is required in South China and extensively to all over the country

? Ability to work hard under pressure. aggressive, outgoing and honest

? Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, outlook etc.)
