JOB DESCRIPTION

    

The DCI Engineer will be responsible for working with cross functional teams to advance (a, delete this a) product design changes from concept to high volume production. Apply advanced knowledge of engineering principles and experience to design components and assemblies for projects of small to large size and diverse scope. The ideal candidate will be a proven problem solver with a track record of handling multiple projects simultaneously.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of commercially available resins, metals, fabrics, knits, and associated soft goods materials as well as a thorough knowledge of manufacturing of other soft goods joining/cutting/forming techniques including ultrasonic and RF welding, thermoforming, and die cutting. 

    

    

Job responsibilities will include:

    

o   Perform hands-on and data-driven root cause-counter measure analysis of mechanical and soft-goods utilizing common problem solving methodologies

    

o   Design and build test systems to determine root causes of factory issues and costumer complaints

    

o   Design, verify and implement mechanical product changes to develop optimal counter measures, all with a data driven approach

    

o   Work with the Manufacturing teams to create processes, tests, and procedures to improve machine reliability and manufacturing efficiency

    

o   Work with the Marketing teams to enhance Product Designs of legacy products to improve customer experience.

    

o   Able to design for reliability including modeling, theory, and accelerated testing

    

Minimum Qualifications:

    

o   3+ Yrs of Experience in Product Development

    

o   BS in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

    

o   Proficiency in 3D modeling – SolidWorks/AutoCAD preferred

    

Preferred Qualifications:

    

o   Medical device change implementation (Quality Design Controls)

    

o   Manufacturing experience

    

o   Lean manufacturing and lean R&D background

    

o   Test fixture design

    

o   Textile basic knowledge/manufacturing

    

o   Sewing and pattern making experience

    

o   Oracle/Agile experience

    

Bonus Qualifications:

    

o   Project Management

    

o   RF (Dielectric) Welding

    

o   English Proficiency
