Job Description:

1. Enforce myCharge product requirements, implement myCharge quality standard in vendors to ensure target quality defect rate and consistently quality improvement. The QA engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement keeping an eye on potential issues in production. Always ensuring vendors implement corrective actions and solutions to mitigate brand risk. This position reports to Quality Manager located in our Shenzhen office.

Responsibilities:

• Assists quality manager to monitor quality performance of myCharge vendors and has regular follow up meeting with vendors to review all quality risk and defined actions tracking list (CAPA/8D…)
• Implement and enhance the quality standards to documentation procedures,  
  Communicate and develop the quality levels with CMs and sub-contractors to ensure consistent and high quality standards 
  ?    Ensure some main sub-contractors such as PCB/SMT/Chip/Modules/battery compliance with the company quality standard 
  ?    Perform external auditing on CMs& sub-contractors meet company quality standards 
  ?    Responsible to lead the new product DFMEA review with local team 
  ?    Responsible to define development reliability test plan, DOE for feasibility study 
  ?    Responsible to define the functional, UI, audio performance test plan 
  ?    Tracking CM engineering build/pilot run testing 
  ?    Support root cause analysis investigations of any product failures. 
  ?    Drive continuous improvement of quality system and product quality using standard methods like six-sigma, SPC…etc. 
  ?    Review production equipment, process, operations, workflow in pilot run 
  ?    Review production testing follow ME/EE requirements/specification 
  ?    Responsible for product material compliance including Rohs/Reach/Prop65 
  ?    Responsible to perform the field testing 
  ?    Sustain high quality products after MP. 
  ?    Responsible for the ORT (On going reliability test) 
  ?    Coordinate with QC (Quality control) department for inspection readiness. 
  ?    Follow up CPAR with CMs 
  ?    Responsible to follow up with 3rd party lab for Agency approval like CE/FCC/IC/RCM/KCC/SRRC…etc. 
  ?    Provide relatedtraining to the team as needed 
  ?    Field return root cause analysis and drive the improvement solution with CMs and function team Must have ability to mentor other members. Audits employee performance, verify transfer of knowledge, promotes cooperation, suggests training to superior QA practices in adherence to company inspection plan policies/processes.
• Develop positive relationships, works closely with sourcing Leaders managing and implement monthly/yearly supplier audits -- participates in current supplier performance reviews and makes recommendations to onboard new ones through robust qualification processes.

·   Collaboration with Product Managers, Project Managers and development leads in USA and Asia during the launch of new products or new product initiatives from conception to product release.

·   Hands-on enforcement of Quality Manual, validation test plan, Design Reviews, on site DV/PV runs and maintain Quality Inspection Plans tailored to specific products and vendor capability(ies). Armed with manufacturing yields and service group market data from service centers in USA supplement existing Sampling methods and “Out of Box” inspection plans.

·   Responsible for facilitating and driving a broad array of Continuous Improvement activities. Leading vendor and internal team members to generate goals and targets for operational process improvement. Generates monthly and quarterly reports on metrics and initiatives to upper management – basic data mining techniques and trend analysis required.

·   Oversees compliance and customer certification to Social Responsibility and Quality management norms from Global Customers like Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond, BIC, Walgreens.  Audits are coordinated through local or HongKong agencies (TUV, SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek).

Position Requirements

 

·   Academic qualifications: 4yr University Engineering Degree.

·   Ability to influence others and lead vendors achieve measurable goals. 90% proficiency English/Chinese verbal and presentation skills.

·   5~6years of hands-on QMS and CI (continuous improvement) tools and techniques dictated on AIAG, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing -- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, 8D, DFMEA, PFMEA in manufacturing and measurement methods

·   3-4yr experience working with cross functional groups with headquarters outside Asia. Understanding of Cost of Quality impact in USA and European market.

·   Knowledge of Product Compliance standards (UL, UN38.3, FCC, MFI, QCx, Qi wireless, PD). Power banks or power management accessories or products is a plus.

·   Corrective and Preventive Action plans at Tier1 and Tier2 level suppliers in compliance with the CAPA process or any other Global Industry Standards/methods.

·   Electrical engineering and consumer electronics background is a must to be able to team up with EE and Mfg. groups identifying process gaps, product weaknesses and DFM (Design For Manufacturability) flaws.

·   10~20% local travel (Guangdong and Dongguan) few exceptions outside this region to follow up KPI vendor meetings throughout the year.

·   ASQ/ASQC or similar certification is a plus; in lieu 4+yrs proven experience of Statistical analysis in engineering design and manufacturing. PMP certification is a plus.

·   Proficiency with MS tools, particularly excel, power point, vector files and intranet data file management files is a must.
