MECHANICAL ENGINEER:

    

Description

    

The Engineer would be a part of the product design and development team specializing in the design of various electronic products (highly specialized lighting for industrial applications - but not limited to) to include injection molding, sheet metal, die-casting, and extrusion; Engineer should hold a strong knowledge of material science and firm foundational understanding of the Engineering Design Process.

    

    

The candidate is integral to the Product Design and Development Team. S/he must be organized, insightful, time management expert, and an empathic communicator (inter-personal and small group) to affect and achieve the goal – product deployment.

    

    

Must be a strong researcher, innovative, passion to learn, and comfortable extending beyond comfort zones). High-level problem recognition, diagnosis, and resolution skills.

    

 

    

Technical Background

    

-        CAD design and Solidworks

    

-        Responsible for the implementation of tooling and or production planning, from original concept through to production.

    

-        Establish and manage design control (user needs, design input, design outputs)

    

-        Design verification, validation, and testing

    

-        Accountable for product development, first article (prototyping) development, configuration changes, build process definition and implementation.

    

-        Experience working under a quality system, ISO9001 or similar is a plus.

-        The candidate will have the opportunity to become highly involved in the overall technical product development that will require knowledge of interdependent engineering modalities (software and electrical - PCBA), industrial design, emerging technology (wearables, lighting, sensor (LIDAR, TOF), blockchain, biometrics), battery technology (solid state, li-ion, lithium polymer, etc.) and product lifecycle (evaluation, testing and validation).

    

-        The candidate will also learn to evaluate supply chain suppliers – travel is required.

    

-        The candidate must also be, or willing to learn, to be a public speaker and comfortable presenting to small audiences.   

    

-        The candidate will also participate in technical aspect of Sales: opportunity identification, technical scope/requirement, target market definition, and able demonstrate value to the client – travel is required.

    

-        Ultimately to lead and oversee the entire technical/engineering group.
