Quality & Compliance Manager

To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Quality & Compliance Manager to join our team in Shenzhen. Providing daily support for our China office, you will be involved in all aspects of product compliance to ensure the timely delivery of excellent merchandise to our clients.

Responsibilities:

· Assist Merchandisers and the China office manager in product sourcing, advising on applicable standards and assessing factory capability to meet regulatory requirements.

· Ensure that vendors are evaluated before order placement.

· Ensure that vendors are audited if required by the customer.

· Check samples against product specification and advise on potential quality control or production issues.

· All aspects of test sample arrangement: liaising with factory for timely delivery of samples, checking of samples, submission forms, dispatch to testing house.

· First point of contact for testing house: sample queries, quotation approvals, invoice queries, planning and progress monitoring to ensure test reports received on time.

· Monitor production schedule and arrange inspections (DUPRO / PLA and FRI) at the factory premises via a third party.

· To advise internally on all aspects of product quality, safety and compliance, with particular reference to testing requirements and consumer labelling, covering mandatory legislative requirements as well as client-specific protocol.

· To ensure appropriate budget is allocated for testing costs.

· To liaise with laboratories for specific testing requirements and to investigate test methods

· To check and analyse test results

· To advise inspection criteria and check inspection reports

· To investigate any post-sales issues and implement Corrective Action Plans accordingly

· Knowledge of current international standards, with particular reference to EU and US legislation, is essential.

· Specific knowledge of food contact, toy standards and REACH is desirable

· Knowledge of setting AQLs and assessing inspection results is essential.

Requirements:

· A minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality and Compliance.

· Good product knowledge and familiar with European standards and regulations.

· Experience with a trading company or buying office for Europe or USA markets preferred.

· Knowledge of key manufacturing processes and variables.

· Organized, able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

· Strong interpersonal qualities, effective communication skills and ability to find positive solutions to challenging situations.

· Excellent command of spoken and written English and Mandarin.

· Able to travel to Mainland China as required.

Salary

Starting salary within a range of 8000 - 12000 RMB per month which will be reviewed after 3 months probationary period.
