RESPONSIBILITY

The responsibility of the packing development engineer is to lead, develop, create, document and communicate Runsven packing manual. And in charge the packaging stuff to make the reasonable packaging design with lowest cost and product safe.

Job Description:

• Oversee and manage complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testing.
• Develop most commercial and price competitive gift packaging, outer packaging, display tray and pdq.
• Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
• Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.
• Participate in product introduction teams, to deliver new products to market.
• Specify and recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate packaging designs.
• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure that packaging exceeds Runsven specifications.
• Develop, create, document and communicate Runsven packing manual.
• Support the mechanical self-choice & self-serve process in store.
• Support product development with specialist knowledge regarding packing requirements and follow up implementation.
• Lead packing and packing related projects with supplier to support the business needs.
• Reduce cost direct in packing solutions and indirect in the value chain. Less air/time/material/handling)
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.
• Work closely with suppliers, engineering, product management, operations, and sourcing.
• Work closely with Engineering to optimize packaging supply base for cost, lead time, quality, regionalization, standardization, supply assurance, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
• Establish standards and guidelines for supplier evaluation. Evaluate and select packaging suppliers/vendors; periodically conduct vendor reviews.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or packaging engineering is required.
• Must have 5+ years of experience in industrial or consumer packaging.
• Broad knowledge and experience in working with packing and packing development on various product category (as kinds product in supermarket)
• Good knowledge in efficient packing process: production conditions and supply chain preconditions. Product range cover SDA/Lighting/ceramic/glass/outdoor furniture /decoration/Toys and so on
• Theoretical and practical knowledge about packing efficiency in production, packing commercial and efficiency (flexibility) Impact in store.
• Broad interest in product development and construction. With Good knowledge of packing test standards.
• Knowledge in chain store supply chain. (cost drivers, handling and storage of goods, sales and distribution channels) and kinds of packing method, such as Carton /Pallet/Tray/PDQ/bulk….
• Knowledge about ergonomic regulation connected to handling of packages.
• Knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.), drafting and specification standards is essential.
• Demonstrable proficiency in 3D CAD, solid works, CAPE Pack, DWP softwares are a plus.
• Good oral and English can be working language
• Self-driving, motivation and team player. With Cross-Dep. Communication/cooperation capability
