Job Summary:

The New product development Engineer is primarily responsible to support the successful development of new products with project management and technical problem solving. The New product development engineer will work with PopSockets contract manufacturing suppliers and PopSockets D&D engineering team to ensure new products are developed on time. The New product development Engineer will report into the Asia Lead Engineer. This job is based in China.

Responsibilities:

· Works closely with Design team and external suppliers to design and develop optimized designs that will result in high quality and low cost products which are easily manufactured.

· Works closely with other members of the team and external suppliers to produce functional prototypes for evaluation. Oversee prototype and ensure design lock on time.

· Works closely with other members of the team to perform basic design analysis (tolerance analysis, FEA, DOE’s, simulated use testing, etc.).

· Works closely with other members of the team to develop verification/validation plans, executes testing and documents results.

· Revised CAD or lead CMs to finish CAD works by Solid work.

· Update documentation to PDM and Arena in a timely fashion.

· Identify Alternative material and process for new product.

· Project management as needed to ensure new product are developed and completed in a timely fashion.

· Sourcing new supplier as needed during new product development period.

· Provide onsite technical support as required for critical process and product issues.

· Review tooling design, Design for Manufacturability.

· Review costing make sure all new product developed in cost manner

· Evaluation and onboarding of new suppliers.

· Working with Mechanical Engineer and Design team to setup product quality standard.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software (Solidworks) and PDM system. 

· Recognized BSME or equivalent with minimum 7 years of related experience.

· Certain understanding of raw material property.

· Good knowledge of injection molding and metal parts tooling structure, Assembly and secondary finishing process.

· Experience in Jig and Fixture design for high volume consumer electronics.

· Ability to work in product development team of engineers as well as an ability to work independently.

· Demonstrated problem solving skills and creative, analytical and detail orientated work ethic. 

· Excellent written and verbal English is required.
