Position: Engineer

Job Title: Testing Engineer

Reporting To: Supervisor

Location: Shenzhen

Job Responsibilities:

Mainly in charge of all things related to testing.

- Assist on organizing testing samples and conduct sample evaluation before lab test.

- Fill out test request form to lab for testing including EMC, LVD, Rohs, LED,etc.

- Work with lab and client to prepare or review test protocol.

- Collect and review all related documents needed for testing from supplier per lab requirement.

- Verify test quotation and track progress of testing with lab.

- Work/visit with lab/supplier to resolve issue from testing and follow up revised sample.

- Chase lab to issue test report and verify report.

- Update client or related party, and upload to database system per requirement.

- Assist on sample evaluation from different stages, such as: buying sample, SS, GS, PP sample.

- Assist on resolving quality issues with related parties.

- Support other team members to resolve quality issues related to test and get documents updated until IC(Inspection certificate) and shipment release.

- Manage projects efficiently within the timescale and get report updated in time.

- Prioritise daily works and optimize available resources to improve work efficiency.

- Build up and maintain database related to engineering and product development.

- Assist Team Leader to ensure that all resources are maximised and followed up assigned tasks efficiently.

Requirements:

- Computer Literate.

- Being fluent in both oral and written English.

- Effective communication skill and multi-task management skill.

- Very good understanding of engineering and product development process for lighting product.

- Strong engineering background.

- Be very familiar with lighting product and related European standards (e.g.: Eng60598).

- Basic knowledge of quality control, inspection and/or international trading procedure.

- Self-motivated.

- Experience from lighting factory, trading/buying company or laboratory will be essential.

- Understanding priority and able to apply it in daily work, and good time management skills.

National Lighting (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (“NLSC”) is the China office of The National Lighting Company Limited (“NLC”). Which consists of Brilliant AG, Poole Lighting, Endon and Saxby (the “Lighting Group”). These companies are all involved in the design and sourcing of lighting fixtures. NLSC is located in Shenzhen, and works closely with Chinese lighting fixture manufacturers. The role of NLSC is to work in partnership with the Lighting Group to ensure that products sourced from China and supplied to the Lighting Group are consistently and efficiently supplied on time, in full and to specification. In order to fulfil its role the NLSC provides specialist services including: Supply Chain Management, Product Development, Quality Assurance & Control, Order Processing, Administration, Purchasing & Sourcing and Factory Development.
NLSC is a key contributor to the overall success of NLC and works under the direction NLC staff located in the UK and in close partnership with NLC staff.
