Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Locate, qualify and approve new suppliers for company's various markets: electronics, automotive & transportation, general industry and medical devices. These suppliers could supply raw materials or finished components.
Conduct new supplier assessments to evaluate supplier's cost, capability, capacity and quality management systems, using Boyd's supplier approval procedures.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times etc. with suppliers.
Conduct material cost analysis between qualified suppliers to get the best final price for the Corporation.
Working with sales/engineering to interpret customer drawing and technical requirements to supplier, make sure supplier understands the purchasing requirements.
Source low cost alternatives for company's key materials and work with sales and engineering to suggest low cost material solutions to customers.
Regularly review supplier's performance on cost, service and quality, implement supplier continual improvement program.

Specific Experience Required:
4 years above experience on material/parts sourcing area, at least 2 years working at automotive industry.
Concrete experience on supplier assessment and on-site auditing procedures. ISO9001 or TS16949 qualified auditor is preferred.
Possess working knowledge of ISO 9001, TS16949 and ISO 14001.
Experience working with an MRP system and certain knowledge of supply chain management.
Possess knowledge of custom clearance procedures, logistics and international trading.
Work experience in a manufacturing factory is desired. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, process controls and knowledge of SPC techniques is an advantage.
