One of the world's Most Admired Companies is hiring a Director of Engineering. Based in Shenzhen, the Director of Engineering is responsible for leading, managing and supporting the company's Embedded and Network Power activities. From evangelizing technologies and processes within and outside the company, to providing hands-on technical direction to engineers, the Director of Engineering is the business, strategic and technical leader for the Power Management business unit.

The Director of Engineering:

- Implements and directs strategic plans formulated in conjunction with the global executive team

- Manages and creates the annual operating budget and action plans for the business unit

- Works hand-in-hand with the Vice President of Engineering to allocate resources and support tactical, strategic and revenue goals

- Defines new product technical requirements in cooperation with the Product Management teams and broad market requirements

- Ensures clear communication and execution of technical and professional

- Serves as the key contact and final escalation point for all product lines' technical integrity

- Ensures projects are delivered to spec, under budget and on schedule

- Continuously identifies opportunities for cost efficiencies

- Oversees the selection, training, development, and performance management of direct reports

- Serves as the key interface between engineering groups and engineering management teams around the world

- Works with the Vice President of Technology to ensure the organization adopts and implements state-of-the-art technologies in product solution design

Communicating technical and strategic ideas across the organization - from the R&D Lab to Sales and Implementation teams with passion and vision - this is a unique role for an established industry leader.

To excel, you should:

Have a post-graduate degree and an applicable Engineering undergraduate degree

At 8 years' experience leading highly skilled technical / engineering teams

OR

Have a PhD an applicable Engineering discipline

At least 5 years' management experience

Have hands-on engineering experience in fields related to:

Network and embedded power products and solutions in areas such as data center design and management, from-grid connectivity, switches...

Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese

Literacy in traditional and simplified characters

Comfortable organizing, administering and managing administrative issues
