The Venting Business Group of the W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. – Performance Solution Division is looking for an independent, passionate individual to support Portable Electronics Venting (PEV) business units. This associate will be responsible for planning and coordinating activities involved in development, helping to understand and translate customer requirements throughout the supply chain, and driving plans to close the gaps.

As a member of cross-functional and global team, this associate will partner with Product Specialists, Application Engineers, Sales, and Process Engineering to ensure preventive quality activities are defined and met for high-quality execution through the new product development (DPD), derivative product development (DPD), sampling and commercial production.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

• Support requirements definition. Ensure customer requirements are accurate, unambiguous, and verifiable. Ensure the quality activities and terms are defined and met from product development through commercial production.

• Review and provide input to validation plans for new and derivative products.

• Negotiate, compile and sign Productions Part Approval Process (PPAP)/ FAI package documents and coordinate submittals to customers.

• Liaise with engineering to ensure APQP tools usage while developing new products

• Ensure suppliers and contract manufacturers conform to specifications and quality requirements by reviewing PFD, FMEA, operation standard, and Process Control Sheets etc. and sign supplier PPAPs/FAI.
• Help to develop, monitor and report key process indicators (KPI’s) to ensure compliance with quality objects and strategic planning goals.

• Provide feedback to internal team regarding customer’s needs regarding quality standards, expectations on product quality, and continuous improvements.

• Generate and update control plans. Check process drawings and process flows for correlation to control plans and customer requirements.
• Support resolution of product and process issues before commercial production.

• Facilitate risk assessments and manage actions to mitigate quality risks.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Mechanical, Electronics, Acoustic, Material, Quality Engineering or other technical discipline.

• 5+ years’ quality function experience in a multinational organization or global cross functional teams.

• Product and process validation experience in continuous manufacturing.

• Experience working on new product development teams.

• Strong knowledge of quality the tools such as FEMA, SPC, 5 Why, 8D, QFD, CTQ, etc. statics, failure analysis, and problem solving tools.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects

• Willingness to travel (up to 20%) and work overtime with short notice

• Internal auditor experience

• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Preferred:

• Technical expertise in the mobile electronics, die cutting Industry.

• Product design quality experience.

• Experience supporting contract manufacturing activities.
