Position Summary: Responsible for the delivery of firmware design for small home appliance with best time, best cost and best quality along the new product development process, which included but not limited in R&D, Engineering Build, Pilot Build, Mass Production. Provide strong firmware design and verification supports, including: coding for 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers, setup RTOS systems, documentation, peripheral interface and code verification. Systems.     Responsibilities: §   Work with new product development team to create the best firmware architecture for the new product development in R&D Phase. §   Define and develop requirements of embedded software system in R&D Phase. §   Support Design Team to develop robust software control algorithm/logics. §   Work with PCBA manufacturers to prototype embedded systems for new product in NPD and NPI phase. §   Review PCBA firmware design for safety, reliability and DFM in NPD and NPI phase to make sure the good firmware design quality. §   Implement systematical problem solving approach to find root cause and make correction plan for all the issues in in NPD and NPI phase. §   Define and Implement Design Verification Test with Software Testing Engineers in each EB build to evaluate robustness/reliability of firmware design. §   Review and approve firmware design documents in NPI and Pilot phase. §   Review and approve the manufacturing and testing process of the firmware in NPI and Pilot phase. §   Provide engineering support to achieve best quality and best cost.  

HIRING REQUIREMENTS Experience:  §   At least 5+ years’ experience in a firmware development role involving the coding, debugging, test and documentation of embedded software designs §   Good knowledge in STM, TI, Renesas, Microchip microcontrollers and IDE’s. §   Good experience in coding in C and ASM. C++ experience is a PLUS §   Good experience in agile/team collaboration firmware development and CMM. §   Good knowledge in MCU peripheral circuit design §   Past experience with rapid prototyping and debug of PCBA §   Experience with motor, autonomous and motion control is a PLUS §   Previous industry experience in consumer electronics product is a PLUS Functional Skills/Knowledge §   Good knowledge of design and verification of the firmware of home appliances §   Good knowledge in MCU-peripheral interface (such as:  power supply, sensor, heater and motor control etc.) §   Experience with EMC would be great though not necessary. §   Good skills in C-language programming and microcontroller familiarity §   Good knowledge and skill to algorithm creation, code emulation and debugging. §   Good knowledge of best practices and standards of coding. §   Good knowledge of code verification plan §   Good knowledge of design for Reliability, DFMEA, DOE etc. §   Good knowledge of design for manufacture and testability §   Good skill on reading, writing and oral English communication. §   Good analytical skills and familiarity with tracking tools such as JIRA and revision control   Education/Certifications/Affiliations §   Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or related majors. Travel Requirements §   Be flexible for domestic and international travel.
